Many from the cryptocurrency community feels that SEC is not exerting enough effort to bring regulatory clarity in the space.
However, the U.S. agency is now interested in engaging an enterprise-wide data subscription for blockchain ledger data in an effort to help monitor risk in the emerging asset class.
According to a federal website engaged in procurement the United States Securities and Exchange Commission intends to procure a commercially available off-the-shelf (COTS) enterprise-wide data subscription for blockchain ledger to monitor risk, improve compliance and inform commission policy on digital assets.
While the interest of the regulatory body seems to be a bullish sign for most SEC has yet to come up with a clear and formal regulatory stance on cryptocurrencies which has bothered most of the crypto investing community as well as individual members of the SEC agency.
