Yoweri Museveni, the current president of Uganda will officiate the 2019 Africa Blockchain Conference in Kampala on July 3-4 2019 with the theme of the conference is Africa 4.0: Preparing Africa for the 4th industrial revolution.
According to local news outlets, the theme will include topics on finance technology, payments systems as well as the future of the country’s education.
President Museveni is a widely known blockchain technology supporter which he believes could help the agriculture, manufacturing and processing, services and the ICT sector.
The company director of one of the organizers of the event reflects on the current maturation of the African crypto industry stating that initially was marred by scams and cons but through proper regulations and partnerships have slowly evolved that could create thousands of job opportunities in the country.
One of the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the World, Binance, has opened shop in Uganda and made it its hub of operations in the said continent, their presence in the country will help support Uganda’s economic transformation and youth employment.
