Ukraine Bullish On Blockchain & Cryptocurrencies

The Ukrainian Blockchain Association (BAU) has recently published an overview of the blockchain sector in the country.

It highlights the beginnings of the sector was well as its communities, then goes ahead to examine the firms participating in the market and what relevant solutions they offer.

The report revealed that 8% of blockchain or crypto projects were started back in 2009-2014 another 8% were created on 2015, 12% on 2015, 20% in 2016, 14% in 2018 with the rest being launched in 2017 which represents the year that has the largest number of blockchain startup launching.

It was also revealed in the report that Ukraine has provided a favorable environment for blockchain and cryptocurrency to thrive in, and the cryptocurrency community is fast becoming the bridge linking both the European and Asian innovation markets.

Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies do not fall under the existing regulatory framework existing in the country but has been allowed to operated without any restriction from any financial authority, however the government has made a series of regulatory attempts in the past to put an end to the regulatory vacuum and uncertainty in the space.
