The United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) advisory committee has been reported to be planning on launching a pilot to test its blockchain-based intellectual property rights proof of concept (PoC).
This will be done with the cooperation of the Commercial Customs Operations Advisory Committee (COAC) that will run the test from August to September and report its findings on the CBP’s website.
The COAC is a powerful committee that advises the Secretaries of the Department of Treasury as well as the Department of Homeland Security.
According to the director of the CBP’s Transformation and Innovation Division, Vincent Annunziato, current blockchains need to be improved to be able to interact with each other and CBP intends to address this by setting standards of interactions between blockchains.
