Hi Everyone ❤
Today I would love to share with you another portrait from the series of all the last terracotta artisans from the documentary film project for the Thanh Ha Terracotta Park and Museum in Hoi An city, Quang Nam province, Vietnam.
Mrs. Chien is a very kind and lovely woman, who has worked hard all her life. She has sacrificed a lot to support her own family like many other traditional Vietnamese women. As an artisan who has contributed to terracotta village for more than sixty years, she’s an important and respected person in Thanh Ha village- a 500 year old pottery village at Hoi An city, Quang Nam province, Vietnam.
Our team visited her house to interview her and the cinematograph filed her work. I tried to capture her daily life, including her work in my drawing.
Here are some pictures showing the process of creating the scribble style drawing of Mrs.Chien
My first step was to capture the layout and key reference points.
I then added more details to her face, capturing the highlights from the light and areas of shadow to give more depth.
And here is the final scribble drawing of Mrs.Chien, each shade is made up of many scribbles, which are free flowing.
