Hey Steemians
This is my second entry for the latest Design a Character contest hosted by @w0olf.
This is a style challenge, where we create an original character design in one of three styles, I picked out Tony DiTerlizzi for this peice :)
Check out the video of the process below. This was great fun and also a little unnatural as I don't usually leave much of my pencil sketches behind when painting.
Final Image
I created this using graphite pencil for main design and painted digitally on my Android Tablet, using Layerpaint HD. As I drew this, I started to notice a loose likeness to Steve Buscemi and used him as a reference at times, so the strange fella is now called Steve :D
Of course sticking to Tony DiTerlizzi fantasy style, with a slightly muted tone, pencil and or penwork, combined with paint.
As for my process check out my timelapse video, with amazing music courtesy of @jeffandhisguitar, please make sure you check out his blog too! Awesome tunes from an awesome dude.
For completeness here's the Pencil Drawing
If you like what you see, don't forget an upvote or resteem is always appreciated, plus I love seeing feedback from people :)
Thanks
Nick
