I don't follow these political matters much. but I remember hearing Jussie Smollett's name along with some hate crimes and how they were faked etc. Now the court hearings have come to a point where it does concern me. He's now ordered to hand over messages, emails, photos, and location data (1 year worth private info) Here's the full list
- Emails
- Drafted messages
- Deleted messages
- Files stored in Google Drive accounts
- Google Voice text, calls, and contacts
- Google Search history
- Web browsing history
- Location data
Go back and check all of these from the accounts that belong to you. I bet most of you are royally screwed if these things gets released. Do you want your last year's browsing history being presented to a court? If you used https://duckduckgo.com you won't be in this mess. If you've turned location data on, all your travels are now not your private matters.
I like that there's a thorough investigation and I want to see Jussie Smollett punished heavily if he had actually staged his hate crime. But this is a moment for all of us to think of what various companies know about us and how accessible they are to 3rd parties.
