Yeh! Yesterday was the Easter Holiday. And of course, I still had to work! Our dance crew was invited as guest performance in the Hong Kong SuperKids Dance Competition.
The Hong Kong SuperKids Dance Competition was an All Style Battle Competition for kids aging 13 years old or below. What is a 1 on 1 Battle Competition? At first, the MC will drop a bottle to see who go first. Then the DJ will randomly play a song. The dancer who go first then dance in freestyle for 1 min. After 1 min, another dancer has the freestyle dance in 1 min also. This is 1 round. Number of rounds depends on the rules of competition and the Judge will choose the winner. Dance Style was not limited in the 1 on 1 battle Competition. We saw Hip Hop, Popping, Locking, House and Breaking in the competition!
In recent years, the development of kids’ street dance moves so quick! Maybe 4 years ago, I still didn’t hear there were kids in Hong Kong learning freestyle dance. And today, we have the first kid battle dance competition in Hong Kong!
I want to say that the quality of the kids is so high! I can’t imagine kids in Hong Kong can battle like this. Of course, as the performance guest, our kid dance crew is also a good one! 復活節來了！當然我還是要工作，這次是我們的其中一支舞團受邀到Hong Kong SuperKids Dance Competition演出！
Hong Kong SuperKids Dance Competition 是一個All Style的1 on 1 Battle比賽。什麼是1 on 1 Battle? 這是兩個人的舞蹈對決，首先MC會拋樽決定誰是第一個出場，之後DJ會隨機播放一首歌，第一個出場的舞者在事前不知道什麼歌的情況下，即場舞蹈1分鐘，1分鐘後，另一位舞者同樣自由舞蹈一分鐘，這叫做一個回合。根據賽制不同，回合數也不同，最後評判會根據舞者表演選出勝利者。這次比賽是All Style，即不限舞種，我們在比賽中看到Hip Hop, Popping, Locking, House, Breaking等舞種！
近年，香港的兒童街舞真的發展很迅速！4年前我還沒有聽過什麼小孩學習跳freestyle，今天，我們已有香港第一個兒童Freestyle Battle比賽了！
