HF21/HF22 : New Era of Downvoting
A major downvoting war is spreading on Steemit.
I usually don,t make posts on steemit but I love to read posts here. I enjoy reading posts everyday specially After HF21/HF22. After reading the posts and seeing upvotes on the post I was curious, what people are getting more downvotes for, I mean now people are downvoting more post than usual. Most of the deserving post don,t get too many downvotes and some post that don,t deserve downvotes are getting downvotes. Since HF 21/22 Downvote on this platform is more widespread.
The provision of free downvote pools that do not reduce curation has caused many downvote players to continue trailing their target accounts. People are downvoting on purpose and some whales are downvoting good posts because they don,t like it. Downvotes are to reduce spam not for personal reasons.
In fact, the purpose of a good downvote pool is to return the reward to the reward pool for posts that commit plagiarism, spam or cheat. However, there is the fact that many downvotes are performed without consideration of good intentions. This makes downvote a battlefield in Steem.

Recently I was reading the post of @xpilar and I loved his idea of downvote control.
My suggestion for the next Hardfork is
The use of downvote / flagging cannot come until you give a factual reason with warning. And the warnings should then come with a yellow flag
If the warnings are not heeded, it will be possible next time to give the red flag, but even then it must be described why the red flag comes.
Anyway, you should already enter a field that says you must comment before you can access flag / downvote

Downvote War
Recently I have seen the downvotes on @dobartim post and he is getting the downvotes on his all post I did,t brother to find the reason but he is getting a lot of downvotes from some specific users in the return he is also downvoting other users as you can see in this graph below. This is not a good thing for steemit future this is live a downvote war between whales. same goes for other places where people are downvoting for their personal reasons.
@curangel is doing best for this platform and I have seen he is downvoting to some users and in return, they are also downvoting to it. @curangel is getting downvotes from haejin and also from dobartim and from many other users.
@rokhani mention something interesting in his post about how he is being downvoted by some accounts.
Has your post ever been downvoted by another account, that you have never even been in touch with?
Have you ever seriously looked at who the downvoter your posts?
Several times I was downvoted by accounts that I did not know and were not related to. In my last post I Like After Tea
There was two downvotes that I got. Here is the scrrenshoot.
I am curious about these downers and then I see their account. When I open and look at transactions in my Wallet, I remember something interesting. Both of these accounts transfer Steem to the account that used to downvote me a lot.
Downvoters sometimes don't see their downvote as returning rewards to the reward pool. At least we can see the downstream related accounts.
In the case that I experienced, I see it from several things.
Downvoting is good or bad for steemit
Everyone knows downvotes are the part of steemit community and we can,t survive without downvote. Downvotes play a very big role in the proof of the brain economy. Without it, the system can’t really work. As we’ve seen over the past few years. Now that we have hard fork 21/22, we have free downvotes, which means that you can now downvote people without losing on curation rewards. It’s very important that we all contribute by downvoting bad actors so the good actors can rise. But downvoting the spam is the best thing to do for this platform and downvoting on purpose is,t helping this community to grow.
Downvotes are for people who are spamming and trying to steal the rewards. spammer like who are consistently self upvoting and the people who are buying votes from bid bots to be on trending page and there post don,t deserve to be on trending.
The main problem is that finding bad content to downvote is,t it, even if you want to downvote. You get free downvotes every day which means that you have to be there every day to downvote stuff if you don’t want to waste downvoting power. Downvoting helps to maintain this platform stable. There is no doubt Downvoting is a good thing, And What if someone starts downvoting only because of he/she has more steem power and no one can face him or they start downvoting because of some personal reason or they don,t love your content even if it takes you an entire day to write. This type of downvote decreases the stability of this blockchain and people with low steem don,t even bother to stay on this platform where they get downvote without any alert and without any reason they get the downvotes. No one wants to invest if there is no assurance of his/her safety. Investor Invest only if he has guaranteed that his investment is safe and secure. But if there is downvote war then there will be no safety measurements and no one want to invest in steem.
Downvotes can lead to a terrible war between steem communities. If the war between two whales starts then this is,t the war between the two whales but also between the people who they are following. After H21/22 has downvoting ratio has gradually increased. Now only we can do is try not to downvote for ourselves but try downvote to save the reward pool.
