In the Limelight
There she stood in the limelight
Blinded by the the glare
Simply partaking in what seemed to make her fair
The roar of the observers
The clapping in the stands
Adrenaline engulfed her
and yet she wrung her hands
she thought,
Oh why can't I delight myself with joy of this wonder?
Is there a reason why I steal my own thunder?
Is it because I am weary of the mind I've grown accustom
Is it all because my insecurities create my corruption
Oh to be loved but not just by them
Oh to love myself and learn to smile again
My own fierce critic
My own sabotage
If only in the limelight was not just a mirage
Let go of that burden
Let go of those fears
Know that your lovely
Know why they cheer
Give yourself the notion that you are just right
Tell yourself the truth and delve in your delights
Smile and bow with grace
and tell them all sincere
I love the way you love me
Her face floods with tears
So she stands out in the limelight
she looks beyond the glare
and thinks for once she's worthy
and ends the dark despair
So love and love and love
one to one to all
Let not the fear that shaped you
win or make you fall
Stand and bow with glory
but remember from which you came
All you need is to love yourself to win in this life game.
