I occasionally do some work over at my buddy Mark's house (son of the famous Hemperor Jack Herer), and could not help but notice the immense amount of fallen apples in his back yard orchard the last time I was there. I was actually kind of hungry when I saw them, so when Mark saw me looking at them he yelled, "take as many as you like, we have way more than we could ever use. Do you need some bags?" That's when I heard the #Earthdeeds call to action.

Fortunately I had my own bags sitting under the passenger seat of my car, so I immediately grabbed those and headed back to the apple trees. I collected two overly full bags, and brought them home to share with roommates, and apparently "trick-or-treaters" later on.
You cannot go wrong with providing a healthy alternative to candy for children in costume on Halloween. To my surprise in fact, one of the children's reactions to receiving an apple instead of candy was, "EVEN BETTER!! A HEALTHY SNACK!!" I was astonished, as I was sure there would be some sort of negative reaction, or at least a disappointed response of some kind, but there was none.
I had plans to make apple cider with these apples, and to also use them in my smoothies, but they all got used up before I had the chance. As long as they were put to good use, instead of just becoming worm food and decomposing (not that there is anything wrong with that... but there was plenty more left for the worms), than I am happy with my intervention here.
Saving these apples to be consumed by myself and my roommates, saved us all from purchasing additional items with similar nutritional value from the grocery store, which saved on time, money, and most importantly the use of additional resources from the Earth. I hope the food banks got a few more apples to give away for free as a result.
Now this is most certainly not my most impactful Earth Deed I have ever committed, but it does qualify to some ever so small degree, and sometimes the smallest things matter the most. There is no way you or I could help the Earth that is too small... and how could I resist? Just look at all those gorgeous varying varieties of apples!

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read my #EarthDeeds story. I hope my commitment inspires all of you to keep healing and preserving the Earth a top priority.
What is an #EarthDeed?
An Earth Deed is anything you do to reduce your carbon footprint and/or heal the planet in your every day life. This could be as simple as re-using plastic bottles and bags, and as complex as organizing massive eco-conscious projects and clean-ups. There is no Earth Deed that is too small to have an impact, and anything you do to be resourceful, and minimize waste, should be reported on to inspire others, especially if you have a Steemit account. This contest provides even more personal rewards for your eco-conscious actions, in addition to the greatest reward of all, a healthier Earth mother Gaia, our home.
If you have your own stories about how you are helping to heal the Earth that you would like to share on Steemit, please do so, and enter my weekly Earth Deeds contest for a chance to win 5 SBD, a 15% @TribeSteemUp vote, AND a 100% up-vote from @EarthTribe!! I will have another #EarthDeeds contest up & running very soon.
Do not forget that my debut conscious Hip-Hop album is completely free for download on Bandcamp and Soundcloud (click the links to go to my music on those platforms), or CLICK HERE for download instructions.
