100 Days of Poetry Challenge
-----Update [Day 24]-----
Winners of Day 18 & 19 announced!Introduction
Howdy, ya'll! Welcome to the somewhat belated update for Day 24 of our 100 day journey. In fact, the day is more than half finished. It began at 6 PM GMT on March 30. Can you believe we are nearly one fourth of the way finished?
Changes to challenge operation & reminders
There are no major changes to the operation of the challenge. Recall that I take a break from holding classes on Saturday and Sunday, but we will have our normal class time at 5-7 PM GMT on Monday, April 2nd. If you are interested in hosting poetry sessions on weekends, let me know and I will announce them in these updates. Stay tuned in the Discord for information on whether people in the group will still meet to share poetry, discuss, etc. on these days.

Class
During Friday's class there was no lecture period, but we heard a lot of great pieces by members of the class and published poets, as well. Before that, our class during Critique Thursday was a great success. Here's the link to the recording of the class: Critique Thursday #2, Feb. 29. We heard a shorter beginning lecture period than our first session last week (Critique Thursday #1 Feb. 22) from Guy Shalev (@geekorner) and managed to critique four pieces in the two hours. They are listed in Guy's post linked above.
Also, we reviewed some critique that I received from @geekorner a couple of days prior on one of my pieces (so I'd had time to properly digest it) and I responded to it, live, to give an example of what an editing dialogue might look like. It is, for me, an exhilarating, humbling, and soul-expanding experience to have my poetry analyzed in such a way. I think the others who participated felt much the same. Thanks to all who were willing to have their pieces critiqued and for all who offered critique, as well. After all, it is a space not only to practice gracefully receiving feedback, but giving it, also.
Of course, much gratitude is due to @geekorner for agreeing to lead these sessions each week! All participating have agreed that they have been quite educational. The next one will be on Thursday, April 5th at 5-7 PM GMT. If you want to bring a piece to get reviewed, keep in mind the length limit is 250 words for practicality's sake. This is open to all poets, not just the ones in the challenge, as all of our classes are.
Our next proper class will be held Monday, as I have elected to take the weekends off to have more time for other work. Again, if anyone wants to gather either casually or formally during the class time on Saturday and Sunday, let me know so I can announce it in these updates.
