The color of Bangkok is startling to see when you first arrive in Thailand. Here are some of the interesting and colorful trucks that went by in my local neighborhood a bit north of the center city.
It is raining on these men who got picked up each day for work. The Buddhist Shrine protecting my soi (alley) is decked out more than usual on this day.

Some traffic on my street passes by while I gawk.

So much is happening on this construction site!
The dirt in the background is the remains of a parking lot that was poured, deemed not acceptable, and so dug up. The blue truck is taking the broken concrete away as it is loaded by the green digger is getting ready to break more.
A few workers are smoothing dirt behind the wires. A taxi is speeding past, and a lady is walking through with her package and umbrella.
Notice no construction fence is present as this is unnecessary in Thailand.

A cute pink truck for your pharmaceutical needs.

There is no privacy in Bangkok, regardless of what this condo van wants you to think. If you live in this condo, you can ride for free to the MRT station which is where it is going now. They have scheduled runs during rush hours and you can call for pick up if you come at another time.

Play! is another condo (with complete living spaces) and this is their commuter van.

This yellow truck with the white top was often in my view. Whatever this person does, it requires a lot of driving up and down my street.

Here we are with the same truck, and closer to the MRT station. The policeman is directing traffic during the afternoon rush. There is a policeman standing in traffic at every corner for miles on end during both of the daily rushes.

They are masked up, have cameras on their helmets, and walkie talkies to communicate with each other. They change directions in the lanes every so often to let traffic flow.
If I feel like it, I can get his attention. He will smile and stop all the traffic to let me cross the street. Sometimes this happens by mistake and I have to cross when I do not need to.
In the years I lived in Bangkok, I never went to any of the tourist areas where we will be for STEEMFest, but I think the vehicles and traffic will be similar.
I can't wait to get back to Bangkok for STEEMFest! I hope to see you there too :)
My post today is for the weekly Photo Friday contest by @qurator. This is a great place to show your interesting photos and get some attention for your blog, so come on down!
