Hello Fellow Steemians

For today’s first Travel Fun Facts, I am going to share what I’ve learned about the world-famous Sagrada Familia that I didn’t heard before until my friend and I visited the city of Barcelona last October 2018, on my birthday weekend getaway.

  • The six giant clam shells ( tridacna gigas) served as holy water fonts inside the iconic ”La Sagrada Familia” were a gift from the Philippines.

  • The shells have small markers as a symbol of the Spanish-Filipino friendship.

  • It was turn over to the church on September 16. 2010.

Although we were not able to take pictures of the other shell clams because of the massive crowd, we are very grateful and blessed for this sacred moment.

It is indeed a great pride and pleasure for all of us Filipinos to be part of the church’s interiors completion.

Hope you enjoyed reading our today’s Travel Fun Facts Series!
