The Costa del Sol is getting busier. As the school holidays and the summer holidays kicked in, there are more and more tourist arrivals. This is one of the most important tourists area in Spain. It span 150 km of sun, sand and beach, hotels and apartments, shops, cafes and restaurants, bars and clubs.

It is a great place for a walk, any time of the day. You will find that every walk is always different, even if you take the same route. There is always something new to see, or something happening. If nothing else, the mere sight and so many people having a good time will immediately relaxes you. A walk on the Costa del Sol promenade is never boring.
If you walk along the beach, you will smell suntan lotion. If you walk along the promenade, you will smell Espeto – sardine skewers – sardines skewed with cane and roasted with firewood. Along the beach, most of the restaurants will have this on their menu. It is a considered a local specialty.
I just realized I do not have a decent picture of the sardines on skewers. Sorry about that Basically, a fire of coal is built in the pit shaped like a ship, and they roast the skewers over the fire.
Another common sight on the promenade are hawkers – Africans hawking their wares - usually imitation goods like shoes, bags, wallets, tee-shirts, watches, sunglasses....
And African ladies braiding hairs.
What style would you like your hair braided today?
