There are two big market days in Benalmadena. One on Wednesday at the car park beside the Parque La Paloma (Park of the Doves), and one on Friday at the Tivoli World car park in the town center, behind the train station. The one on Wednesday is a second hand good market. The one on Friday has everything from fruit and vegetables, candies, potteries, handbags, shoes, clothing, hats, potted plants.... Both are very popular with both locals and tourists as one can find good bargains here.
Both markets open from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. It seems a lot of work for a five hour business period, especially the one on Friday, as they have to set up the stalls. The Wednesday market, maybe because they are all second hand goods, some of the merchants just lay their merchandise on the floor.
This is the view from above, on the slope of the market place. As you can see, it is quite a big place - and this is not the entire place as part of the view was blocked by trees.
