Isn’t it ironic that in food paradise Singapore, where every cuisine can be had, where there are so many Indian restaurants, that I had to go all the way to Spain to appreciate Indian cuisine. Being one who eats to live, I am not particularly bothered with what I eat so long as it is healthy food. I had eaten in Indian restaurants before, but they were ‘just another meal’. I didn’t pay too much attention to what I ate.
On my first visit to Benalmadena two years ago, a friend of my friend was very insistent that I should try this Indian restaurant because another Singaporean friend of hers who had been to the restaurant was full of praise for the restaurant. So, of course I had to give the restaurant a try and give her my opinion.
It was at that moment that I fell in love with Indian food. The food was so lovely I had to give the restaurant two thumbs up. I have dined there several times since, and again last night. I went there with my friend and this is what we had.
Papadum was served as a complimentary side dish. I think all Indian restaurants do that. They are thin, disc shape crisp served with toppings - mint sauce, mango chutney and chopped onions.

We ordered Bhuna. One of our favourite dishes. It is lamb cooked with thick spicy sauce, tomatoes, bell peppers, garlic and coriander. It is said to be a real Indian choice. The taste was simply divine. Lovely thick curry sauce and the lamb was so tender and tasty. We opted for the medium spicy, and it was just the right spiciness for us.
We also ordered curry vegetables. Again the curry sauce is thick, rich and lovely.
The Bhuna (lamb) is on the left and the curry vegetables on the right.
We had some garlic naan and some biryani rice to go with the dishes. All very nice indeed.

I have often claimed that I eat to live. That is very true. Now, that doesn’t mean I do not know what good food is, or that I do not appreciate a good dish. This Tandoori restaurant certainly has my seal of approval. I should have taken a picture of the restaurant. Maybe next time.
