Unschooling is still not very popular in Russia, though its popularity is increasing from year to year.
I follow all news touching this topic and often see many parents' claims about barriers which they face during shift to unschooling.
One of them is the barrier from the school administration.
They just reject to give back the private documents of pupils to their parents.
These documents are creaed by the school when a pupil starts his education there, and they're kept there until the school time ends. They prove he is one of this school pupils, and this data is official and used by other authorities.
Many parents are shocked that they can't get these documents, and thus they can't be free from the school system!
The thing is that school administation really create many barriers for parents - from threatenings to rejection to give kids documents.
The reason is clear - they need to keep as many kids inside of this system as possible.
But there's another profit - the school is interested in keeping these documents because they get financial help from the budget according to the number of kids studying there!
Just like orphanages! The same hell story...
But parents have found some ways to struggle with this outrage!
Some of them just create fairytales that they mvoe to other cities or just go abroad to make the school heads give all documents asap. So they need to hide the truth not to struggle with the System!
Other parents use so called offcial way out - they give an official application to the school administration with the claim to give the documents back. If it's a document (not just oral requirement), the school needs to enter and fix it in a special school register, and thus - they must to react on it, they can't ignore it. And thus there are NO official and legal reasons to reject in giving docs to parents - they are to give them back!
But actually, parents have ALL right to receive these documents , and it's written in the school dicuments as well!
It's a paper of the school documents that proves it.
We need just to know our right, and sometimes it's enough to win!
