It is said that you should never follow the Min Min Lights; they will lure you away never to be seen again.
So, what does Katéa do? Chase after them of course!
Determined to capture the myth and make her fortune, this young Australian stumbles out of the bush and into a fantastical new world filled with pixies, dragons and perpetually drunk villagers, and even falls in love.
But, not all is ever as it seems. An awakened evil stalks the land and Katéa finds herself in the centre of malevolent misfortune. Can she deafen this disaster she unwittingly helped summon, or will the world be shrouded in darkness forever?
Warning: contains sexual themes, excessive "language", and Australian humour.

If you have already bought and read Half Past the Moonfall, I ask that you please leave a review. Even if it's a one star. Reviews make the world go 'round, even negative ones. I'm a big girl who can handle non-favourable feedback. Be honest. Maybe your negative is someone else's positive! It also shows that real people are reading, not just people who have been bribed. :)
@carolkean reviewed Half Past the Moonfall... and had her review --and VINE account-- banned from Amazon because we are social-media affiliated. It was a truly amazing review and it pains me that it can't be seen on my Amazon store page.

It amazes me how much good she had to say about a story that I have a love/hate relationship with. It makes me realise that authors really are their own worst enemy!
YOU CAN ALSO FIND IT ON GOODREADS

It's been three months since the release of Half Past the Moonfall. It sold 14 copies and was half-read by one user on Kindle Unlimited. For my first ever book and minimal marketing, I'd say that's pretty good! Haha.
As a brand new self-published author, if I could give five words of advice to any others who may be wanting to publish their first book on Amazon:
DO NOT CHOOSE KDP SELECT.
I imagine that KDP Select is fantastic for authors who have many, many books, and who already have an established reader base, but for a brand new author... not so much. You don't want to be exclusive to Amazon. You don't want to be locked in. You want to be able to offer your book on other websites and apps. You want to be able to offer it on your own website. You want it to be available on more than just Kindle.
As a brand new self-published author, I also learnt that the whole world does not revolve around Kindle. So many people out there believe that a Kindle is only the eReader device and not a program that can also be installed on PC and Smartphones. So many people asked me if I had a PDF version available because they didn't have a Kindle, or simply, they hated Amazon.
The message was heard loud and clear and with Half Past the Moonfall behind me, I know better for my upcoming Aethya's End series -- Book One of which will be released this year.
Incidentally, if you'd like to be a Beta Reader for it in a couple of months, you should sign up to the @freewritehouse's Beta Readers Group! ;) Read and give important feedback for stories by several steem authors seeking to publish! :)
Once more, a HUGE thank you to the @freewritehouse for hosting #freewritemadness during NaNoWriMo 2018. If not for them, for the steem blockchain, this book would never have been imagined, written, and published. Thank you @ntowl and @mariannewest!
