On Tuesday, after lunch and pickleball game, I took a bus home. It was a long ride. After the bus stopped, I decided to go check out a new coffee place at 190 Toa Payoh Central.
星期二,打完球,吃过午餐,搭了公车回家。车程挺远。到车站后,我决定去190大巴窑中心试一个新的咖啡店。

There it was.
就是这里。

I went in and ordered a peanut butter toast set for $4. The coffee came soon enough but I had to wait for the rest.
我进去点了个$4的花生酱吐司餐。咖啡很快就来了但其余的还得等。

Might as well sit and have a look at their setup. Got an idea for my coming renovation.
那就先坐下看看他们设置。找到一点装修的注意。

Took a while even for the toast to come. Interestingly, first time I had peanut butter toast with also butter in it.
还有等一会儿在来那土司。有趣的是我第一次吃花生酱土司里加了牛油。

The eggs took longer. By that time, I finished half the toast. Hmm... they don't have the dark soy sauce. At least, I didn't have to mess with the eggshell here for they did it already.
蛋还更需要多点时间。吃了一半土司才来。嗯,没有黑酱油。至少不用自己敲开蛋。

Yesterday… | 昨天。。。
This one star Michelin place opened at Toa Payoh less than 2 years ago. I have had dinner there a few times. Sometime back, I saw a notice outside that said they are closing on 10th March. Pity. The food was reasonably good and not expensive. It's not that they have no business. I'm sure they are doing well for lunch though I had been there mostly for dinner. I suspect they are not closing by choice. Probably the landlord is kicking everyone out with some other plan. A few other places have already closed including Tim Ho Wan. So, Wednesday night, I went there for dinner one last time.
这个一星级的米其林餐馆在大巴窑开不到两年。 我在那里吃过几次晚餐。 前些时候,我看到外面的通知说他们将在3月10日关闭。可怜。 食物相当好,而且不算贵。也不是没生意。 虽然我大多是在那儿吃晚餐,但我相信他们午餐时间的业绩也该不错。 我猜他们也不是想停业而可能是没有选择。 可能是业主有更大的计划把所有的店踢走。 好几家其他店已经关闭了,包括添好运。所以,星期三晚上,我最后一次去那儿吃晚餐。

Here's a photo of the place taken from just outside. As you go in, keep to the right and go all the way in to order and pay for your food. You'll get a number with the receipt.

I sat at the far corner which I never did before and took this photo.

When my number was called, I went to pick up the food in the front and collected the cutler. Last time to enjoy here. Next time, I'll have to go Chinatow, Funan Centre, Bangkok Airport or London. :-)
So, the chicken noodle for me...
