Hello Steemit!
I made yokan for the sweet challenge ^^

I made this one time before, but the version with a lot of water.
If you are interested (:
This time I made a thicker yokan with some autumn feeling thanks to the combination of chestnuts, chocolate and red bean paste. Although this is a summer snack in Japan.. ^^
Anyway, let me show you guys the recipe;
Ingredients;
- Red bean paste
- Sugar
- Agar agar
- Water
- Chocolate
- Chestnuts

Instructions;
Step 1; Red bean paste.
- Soak the beans overnight.
- Cook the beans about one hour in boiled water.

- Squeeze one azuki bean with your fingers, if it is smushed, it’s done.

- Turn up the heat to high and add sugar. Stir constantly.

- Once the sugar dissolves turn the heat off. The paste will thicken more when it cools.

Step 2; Agar agar.
- Boil some water.

- Once boiling add some agar agar.

Step 3; Chocolate and mixing.
- Once the agar agar is dissolved add the chocolate.

- Once the chocolate is dissolved add the red bean paste.

- Once red bean paste has completely dissolved remove from the heat to let it cool a bit for 1 minute.
- Pour mixture into mold.

Step 4; chestnuts.
- The last step is really easy, after pouring just add the chestnuts.

That's it! Just let it in the fridge for 1-2 hours.
Once it's done cut it in pieces and enjoy!

Hope you guys enjoyed my recipe ^^
Here is my savoury entry for those interested (:
