Charcoal Kingdom
Fairly normal street view. the whole right side window slides open and is a bench that some people eat at, but mostly people sit at waiting for the take away orders
I've been going here fairly regularly since moving into the area 18 months ago, and their chicken is pretty great, but it's also the sides that you get with it that make the meal. 1/4 chicken & chips, with a set of the sides which is a small container of sliced pickles, small container of a sauce (I get Garlic usually) and a Lebanese flat bread.
So the other night we were having a farewell for another housemate, and we weren't able to organise a time for all of us to go out somewhere for dinner like we have in the past, so we got dinner and brought it back home to share. We grabbed their #6 Family Pack which gave us 2 whole chickens, a truckload of chips (they call it 'family' size), 2 large sauces (we bought an extra one), a whole bag of flat breads, and 2 containers of pickles. It was a veritable feast that we had to eat. There was a bit under half a chicken left, and about half the chips, as well as about 4 flatbread and some sauce.
with 5 people in the house, this was actually plenty of food for dinner
The next day there was some good eating of the leftovers, and the flat breads are still good a few days later. Even the chips reheated well and I had a few chip butties to eat up the leftovers, as well as use up some of my loaf of bread I had that needed eating.
They're a good little business, and great to have them walking distance from home. I haven't even bothered wandering over the other side of the tracks to check out the other chicken place that is nearby.
