Ever heard of Tomato Chutney? Well, it's a popular side dish which we prefer to have with rice and curry. It's for increasing appetite. We usually make different types of chutney with other different ingredients too like tamarind, mango, mint, etc. But during the winter season, we prefer to make it with tomatoes as tomato is very available during this season. Also, it doesn't require many ingredients so it's always easy to prepare.
So, here's how you can do it!
What do we need?
- Tomatoes
- Salt & sugar
- Onion and garlic
- Green chilli
- Turmeric
- Panch Phoron (Cumin, Brown Mustard, Fenugreek, Nigella and Fennel)
- Coriander
First cut some tomatoes. I took almost half a kg.
Put sliced onion and garlic into vegetable oil.
Take sliced green chilli, salt, turmeric, panch foron, tomatoes and put it in the pan.
Put the lead on and cook for a while like 5 munites.
Put some sugar, one spoon would be enough and cook for another minute. Reduce the water and take off from the cooker.
So, that's it. Easy to made tomatoes chutney. You can have it with paratha, roti, and rice. Also, you can eat it like pickles. You will love the sweet, sour and spicy taste for sure.
