"I don't know what you want me to say," I tell her.
"You are a liar, Mr Herd."
Ah. Right there, we have a problem. I am not Mr Herd.
"I'm not Mr Herd!" I shout. I can hear glee in my voice. This nonsense will soon be over. Once they realise the error, they will surely let me go. Possibly with an appology for the tying up and the torture. Although I will be happy with my freedom at this point, an apology would just be the icing on the cake.
"Nice try, Mr Herd," the woman says. She comes closer to me and I see she has a knife in her hand. I try to shrink away but the chains restrict my movement somewhat.
"I'm not lying!" I say. "How can I prove it. My name is John Smith!"
She laughs.
"Could you not have come up with anything more original?"
And she plunges the knife into my bicep. I cry out as it cuts the muscle and start to shriek when she removes it.
