One can tell she is always having good appetite by her size. Well, she is 100kg, around 220 pounds.
But behind the good appetite lies a story of past hurt - which is still undealt with.
She used to be a pretty famous girl, one whom most boys will fall for. But one tragedy ripped off not only her body but her self-esteem and self-confidence. She got gang raped, planned by some girls who were jealous of her. They even tortured her by sending her naked photos to her email, as a way to blackmail her so she would not expose their act.
She told nobody except Mary, her best friend. Mary knew everything but had to keep it as secret. She was near committing suicide until she found a way out. Indulgence. Her appetite grew overnight. She almost could eat non-stop. She gained weight very fast too. Ironically, as she gained, she became happier. The happier she was, the more she ate. Before long, junk food and soda drink became her best friend. Her appetite for food was an appetite for self-destruction.
Often she could laugh it off when younger kids made fun of her size. But Mary knew beyond the laughter was pain beyond measure. All Mary could do was to pray, that one day she would realise and agree to seek professional help. As of now, Mary vowed to stick with her through thick and thin, because Mary was once a victim too. But she chose the other way - anorexic.
Mary knew deep in her heart that one day her friend could be saved, just like her.
