I told my children once that they have never known the real meaning of being hungry. Intense hunger is never part of their life. How lucky they are.
"I am hungry!" they exclaimed.
Then the moment if they see what being served is not what they want to eat, they might comment, "Why don't have fried chicken?"
See, hungry people eat whatever that is served. They won't make any remark such as above. Hungry human beings to the point of starvation eat even food thrown into the bin.
Typing this, my heart aches - the fact that they are still some citizens in some countries who faces starvation and malnutrition. To say that they are hungry, is an understatement. They are severely desperately in need of food.
We see documentation of children dying because of starvation. This is beyond hungry. We see video clips of children eat biscuits made out of mud and drink urine from animals. Then we also experience extreme luxury where food are wasted and tonnes are being dumped.
What has the world become? Can't the wealth and food be shared equally? I don't know, and I just genuinely ask. And I am not government and I do not know how to governments work and collaborate with one another. Things are not as easy as it is being said or questioned. I ask merely from my naiveness.
But I am thankful for organisation and communities who step up the help the underprivileged. To serve the poor. To feed those who are hungry. To lead those who are lost.
