Today is weekend and we get to choose whatever prompt we like from the list of single prompts from @mariannewest's daily prompt profile. I browsed through and once I spotted "hair", I immediately recalled the good 'ol days of growing up as a female teenager reaching puberty.
We all had our fair share of body comparison, highly challenged self-confidence and self-esteem while we were still figuring out our identity. Whose waist was smaller, whose boobs were bigger, whose legs were slimmer, whose buttocks were firmer. Argh! I hated all those conversation I heard from my friends. I made me compared!
I hated it when my friends remarked I had meaty nose. Ah...Caught you looking at my photo now! You don't have to deny. See....I do have big nose! Well, never mind, I am old enough now and I'm more secure and confident now as a woman. Big nose means I am more sensitive to smell, that means I can locate where the fart comes from. So beware when you fart around me. Hahaha!
Okay, I thought I suppose to say about my hair? Oh my, I was catching the wrong rabbit above. I love my long straight soft hair that does not need straightening or rebonding. Sad to say, that was THE ONLY part I loved about my body...last time.
How about eyes? Nope, I hated it when people remarked my eyes were too big they scared them out of the hell. I should say well my eyes saved you from hell then.
Time is running short. So what I want to say is, despite only loving my hair last time, I had grown to be more secure in my identity as a person. It is not just about the outlook. It is about how you carry yourself. You got to love yourself as a person, as a being. So now, as I did this selfie, I was kind of surprised I love every part of me. Yes, that includes my jelly saggy tyre belly - which just meant I had given birth to two big baby boys. Oh also not forgetting my big nose! And my big eyes!
Love yourself inside out. Build yourself to be secure in your identity so that you do not need to strive to be another person. You are irreplaceable and previously you! Love~~~~❤
