Matilda's journey had been an anxious one. Not because she had any fear of flying or travel itself. No, she loved to travel and enjoyed the time she got to herself when she was up in the sky cocooned in her own bubble for hours and hours.

No she was anxious because she was worried about how she was going to be received the other end. Would anyone be at the airport waiting for her? Would Mike be there, more importantly?

It had been too long without word from him. It wasn't like him, but then again, she knew that he'd taken a big hit recently, and there was every chance he'd blamed her for it. Wasn't she partly responsible? Even just a little bit? She couldn't really deny that she was, not in her own thoughts.

She felt a little blood on her lips and knew she'd been biting them again. Now that was a really bad sign. She hadn't noticed quite how lost in her thoughts she'd become.

She had her book open on her lap. She was only 50 pages in. By now she should have finished it, and been on her laptop writing her review. But her mind kept going back to the night when Mike had stormed out.

Since then there'd been a big freeze. No communication what so ever.
