Caveman Warriors Review - Older people at work!

maxresdefault (24).jpg

The last cavemen have been able to walk around the world thousands of years ago, in Caveman Warriors they just exist! And there you can see them in action as you can expect from my primitive precursors: wildlife striking and jumping. Whether you want to get so much energy from this game, you will find out in this Caveman Warriors review!

Good ideas are coming. Similarly, Caveman Warriors started on Kickstarter and is now available on quite a few platforms. The 2D platformer appears at a time when the genre spills out a couple of days, thinking of Cuphead and Expendabros . The wirwar of characters, bullets and explosions has such charms and you often get into it, which makes it especially suitable to do with others.

Caveman Warriors is such a game that you must clearly set with friends to get the most out of performance and gaming pleasure. For a friendly price of 15 euros you already have it, but how much do you get back for that?

From dinos to robots

First of all, a wide range of levels and gameplay. With four different cavemen, each with their own color, you are completely traditional for the challenge to reach the end of a level. Of these, there are eight that differ widely, where you climb the four-headed team and fly before the credits roll over your screen. You'll be past prehistoric caves with dinosaurs and cave dwellers, ruined cities where Nazis walk and along futuristic laboratories where robots are watching.

The enemies who cross your path try to make you all smaller and are quite varied. For example, the Nazis have tanks, snipers and grenade launchers at their disposal and are strategically placed. You are burned from all sides, so do not worry about it. Running simply like a crazy or caveman - does not really want to succeed.

The change is good and the gameplay is also varied. What pays special attention is good co-operation; Each playable character has own attacks that make them suitable for certain situations. The purple Liliana can throw away a distance and lock them into walls where the team can then jump to otherwise unreachable platforms. The green-haired Jack has an ax with which he can throw down to the buzz that is under him.

No drop-in / drop-out co-op is a miss

In the choice between these characters you are not very free and that is a pity. It's the most optimal to celebrate Caveman Warriors, but you only have the option to choose who you are at the beginning. Once started, you can not trade personally unless you pass a controller (in the hottest battle). Only when someone is dead, which also directly affects the difficulty, you can change personality yourself.

If you have reached a checkpoint, the game automatically and randomly chooses to return to those who died. A drop-in / drop-out co-op had been a simple solution. If a player stops now, the artificial intelligence does not change and you simply miss a player for the rest of the level. Not that it's both boring with its two or three, but it fights between four people who accidentally caught the last donut for what HP is a bit more cozy.

Thus, the collapsing can lead to two sides. Or you play well together and then you have significantly more lives. This requires a little patience and especially coordination. The opposite can also be: no one is bothered by it and then it is such an endless exercise. Not that this is bad because the game takes about five hours to complete and you do not want to go through that too fast.

Challenging

"Happy" you will put the lead on a regular basis; Caveman Warrior is very spicy and he is in a number of things. First of all, the pace is quite high, because someone often goes through and staying behind usually means your death. In addition, because of their diversity and positions, the enemies make you extra difficult. You can damage the team members yourself and sometimes even get lost, but you have to avoid anything else.

Caveman Warrior is playing on several levels, so if you find it too easy then you can screw it up. Normal mode is already difficult, so the challenge is fine. Nevertheless, it is unbalanced, because one level is much more difficult than the other. Especially the fourth level, of which the enemy could actually have served as the final boss of the game.

Caveman Warriors review - release the caveman in yourself

If you like to play a game of friends with too much depth, you can lose your egg in Caveman Warrior! If you are looking for your inner caveman too. In this 2D platformer you can hit the hearts of dinosaurs, nazians, robots and other enemies. You will also find enough challenges in the varied levels.

You do not have to expect a really long game, but there is a price tag of 15 euros. You will get a cozy local co-op game with up to four players. A drop-in / drop-out feature has been useful and also not all levels are equally well balanced, but for the rest, Caveman Warriors has come to an end. Perfect for a night with your friends to enter the mancave!
