Made by a single person, Stardew Valley knows to create a great fan base. Beginning this month, the title even came to the Switch, allowing you to enjoy the farm life on the way. Why you enjoy in this Stardew Valley review!
Whoever wanted to play a farm game soon came out at Harvest Moon. With a number of titles for the Gameboy and Gamecube within that series, there was enough choice. In recent years , the magic of the games lacked in newer titles, resulting in a gap in the market.
There, Stardew Valley soon jumped in and knew the simple concept and traditional graphics immediately. A big nibble for Natsume so to fight with the coming Harvest Moon Light of Hope with Stardew Valley.
And so it begins
Just like in the Harvest Moon titles, you start your adventure on a farm. Even though a farm may be a big word for the shoots and a piece of land full of weeds. But it's up to you as a player to make that misery a profitable farm.
Depending on your preference, you start between a number of rivers, a forest, the middle of the wilderness or the above-mentioned overgrown plain. Every place has pros and cons, which means that you have to ask yourself whether you want to be a fish farmer, woodcutter, monsters or "ordinary" farmer.
Get to work
If you have overcome that first obstacle, you can immediately get ready for the land for crops or stables for animals. Because before you can plant anything, you will have to make room first. And more importantly, seeds must buy to stop in the ground of course!
Where you can see Stardew Valley as a farm game, you will spend the most of the time on something else. Keeping relationships with residents of the neighboring village is not only convenient, you also get the opportunity to meet and marry a friend!
Playing slime
But before that's over, you'll first have to win the trust of the residents. The easiest way for this is to give gifts, with bonus points for giving on someone's birthday. Because who does not like a birthday present?
Every resident has a love for specific objects and an aversion to others. And as certain things are only available during a particular season, you are always good at keeping things going.
Winter is coming
For what is not to be missed in the Stardew Valley review, it is the highlight of the season system in the game. There are a total of four seasons each lasting thirty days. During that period you can sow and harvest crops that fit within that season. With a crazy duck in the bite winter, in which there is hardly any growth.
That does not mean winter is a lost season, because there is plenty of experience in the village and on the country. As already mentioned in the special with Stardew Valley tips, you can actually repair a greenhouse to earn some money with crops in the icy cold. Or take a trip to the nearby mine to chop something out of money.
Upgrade
As in Harvest Moon, you can digest some minerals and raw materials into the quarry. The deeper you go, the more valuable and the rarer the proceeds. Of course, such findings can be used to improve your tools or build new machines.
Better tools reduce the power consumption of the player and allow you to break larger tree stumps or stones. This gives you access to new areas, so it's worthwhile to get both your skills by working and collecting materials.
New Year New chances
Those who survived the first year on the farm without too much tearing up can use his sour-earned money in the next year to expand significantly. Enhanced relationships provide more invitations for festivals, meetings or even trips to someone's bedroom...
And if it happens now that the harvest falls in a year by a crow's pest, do not be disturbed. Every year there is a new chance to overcome the previous year. Also with regard to relationships with villagers!
Stardew Valley review - Boer Harms for beginners
Even after a number of Stardew Valley years, the possibilities continue to feel fresh. No season is the same and you always have a new goal to achieve. And if you feel like you can say goodbye to your crops after fifty years, it's definitely worth rebooting as a wine farmer with another start location. Because Stardew Valley does not bore!
The plus and the drawbacks
✔ Classic graphics
✔ Build and maintain relationships
✔ Make money and plan ahead
✔ Farm gradually expand into empire
✖ Racing is still very slow
✖ (still) No multiplayer
Thanks for reading, I hope you liked it!
