The release date of Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is fast approaching us and that is a good thing, because I can not wait for that game anyway. It is a sequel to the first part that won the hearts of many gamers in 2010. It could take seven years, but with a few months we can finally get started with the title. What you can expect from Ni No Kuni II can be read in this preview.
Meet Evan
In the second part of the JRPG we are introduced to a completely new protagonist. It is about Evan, who, despite his young age, is already the real king of a kingdom. This, however, causes some problems when a dark evil (I know, very dramatically) threatens to destroy his kingdom. It is up to him to withdraw the wide world and prevent this.
For the people who played the first part, the gameplay is probably still very well known, but for the people who do not know this, they get a small recap. In principle you are completely free to go and stand where you want. This ensures that you can enter several cities and also explore the large open world. As you explore the world, you encounter strange creatures. These are known as Higgledies and are initially an attempt to attack you. But if you can beat and catch them, then they will be on your side from now on.
The latter is mainly the reason that I put so many hours in the first part. Now I am a terrible collector, but the game also offers all possibilities to make this part addictive. When you combine this with the big open world and all sorts of side quests that are available alongside the main storyline, you can entertain yourself for hours with this title. The second part has the appearance that this will be exactly the same and will of course be supplemented with new creatures to catch and compete with. I am really looking forward to throwing countless hours in this game again.
So much to do!
Above I briefly discuss the quests that you can do anywhere. The world of Evan is not one that is empty, but is filled with people, animals and everything you can think of. They think that threatening evil is apparently not that important and you know how to saddle with the most difficult chores. Sometimes you have to find some things or find another person, but one thing becomes clear: it takes you seas of time. In this way you get to know the world and its inhabitants well. This way you can lose yourself in the world of Ni No Kuni II.
An important new thing in the second part is that you can create your own Kingdom as a kind of minigame. By doing the time-consuming quests, you sometimes make friends with the right people. This ensures that they want a place in your city and you can put them there yourself to put together your own Kingdom. Gives the completion of quests a little more reason.
Conclusion
When I look at the amount of possibilities that Ni No Kuni II knows how to serve us and think about how nicely the first part played away, I am sure that Level-5 of this second part will once again make a pearl. The only thing I have any questions about is the story. It is clear who you are and what your goal is, but I do not yet have a good idea of what this will look like later on. For now, just wait and see. I'm going to count down the nights anyway.
Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom appears on March 23 for the PC and PlayStation 4.
Thanks for reading, I hope you liked it!
