Super Mario Bros. is a video game platform developed by Nintendo in late 1985 and published by the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) as a sequel to the Mario Bros game of 1983. In Super Mario Bros., the protagonist, Mario, seeks to rescue to Princess Toadstool (later renamed Princess Peach) of Bowser's Mushroom Kingdom, king of the Koopas. Mario's younger brother, Luigi, is playable by the second player in the game's multiplayer mode, and assumes the same role as Mario in the plot.

10. Nintendo wanted Mario to mount Yoshi from the NES, the original idea could not be fulfilled, after tests and failed attempts on the NES console. It took 6 years for Nintendo to achieve its goal. It was not until the exit of SuperNintendo (SNES) that they managed to get Mario and Luigi to ride the charismatic dinosaur Yoshi.
