This is little Potatinho.
His ancestors were grown by Inca in Peru around 8,000 BC. It took a long time before the first potatoes left the mother land. As the story says, it was across the big water by spanish ships. The first step was hard, but very soon they conquered the whole Europe. Only a few generations later, brave potatoes were on their way to North America... Little by little, they dispersed all over the world. And even further! In October 1995, the potato became the first vegetable grown in space. And hopefully one day on some colonies.
But none of these facts will make his life any better.
