Simulation von Daten für die Wissenschaft

Wolltest du schon immer an der aktuellen Forschung teilnehmen ? Möglicherweise bahnbrechende Forschungsergebnisse mitverantworten ? Die Möglichkeit hierzu existiert bereits. Durch die Installation und das Ausführen von BOINC, einer Software der Berkeley Universität, ist es möglich Datenpakete für Forschungseinrichtungen zu berechnen und so aktiver Teil der Wissenschaft zu werden.
Darüberhinaus kannst du damit noch die Kryptowährung Gridcoin verdienen, deren Market Cap immoment bei 13 Millionen Dollar liegt und die ein tägliches Handelsvolumen von mehr als 700.000 Dollar aufweist (Daten von 13.09.17)

Data crunching for science

Have you ever wanted to take part in cutting edge science ? Be close when groundbreaking new developments are made ? This opportunity already exists. Rosetta@Home

Das Projekt Rosetta@Home beschäftigt sich mit der Erforschung von neuen Proteinen und der vorhersage der 3 dimensionalen Struktur dieser Proteine. Dies könnte letztlich der Schlüssel sein Krankheiten wie HIV, Malaria, Krebs und Alzheimer zu besiegen. Die Forscher glauben, dass die gezielte Vorhersage und das Erzeugen von Proteinen der "Helige Gral" der Bioinformatik sein könnte. Das Projekt hat seinen Sitz an der Universität von Washington.
Das obige Bild zeigt die Ansicht des Programms während der Berechnung und sozusagen beim "falten" der Proteine.
Im unteren Bild sind die Statistiken des Projekts dargestellt, es gibt derzeit rund 30.580 aktive User, die Datenpakete innerhalb der letzten 24 Stunden berechnet haben. Das ist ne Menge oder ? Aber das reicht noch nicht, jeder einzelne zählt!

Rosetta@Home

The project Rosetta@Home is researching the 3 dimensional shapes of proteins. This could ultimately lead to finding cures for some major human diseases like HIV, Malaria, Cancer and Alzheimer. The scientists believe that the prediction and the artificial design of new proteins could be the "holy Grail" of Biology and Computer Science. The project is run by the university of Washington.
The picture above shows the program while data crunching, what you can see is the folding of the proteins.
In the picture below you can see the statistics of the project, currently there are roundabout 30.580 users active, meaning they delivered a data package within the last 24 hours. Thats a lot isnt it ? But still not enough, everyone counts!

In einem neuen Artikel im Science Magazine sprechen die Forscher davon einen großen Fortschritt in der Proteinforschung erzielt zu haben. Das datengetriebene Design. Status of the project

In the most recent article in science magazine the scientists speak of a major step ahead in protein research, the data driven design. With this it is possible to have a tight feedback cycle between computational values and experiments and has potential to transform computational protein design into a data driven science. Gridcoin belohnt euch dafür das Ihr diese Datenpakete berechnet und aktiv die wissenschaftliche Forschung unterstützt. Gridcoin ist eine Kryptowährung und wird an all jene ausgeschüttet die entweder als Investoren(Berechnen selbst keine Daten) oder als "Forscher" tätig sind.
