Results
Yesterday marked the end of the poll on the proposed Gridcoin white paper. Here are the results:
- Best Answer: Yes
- Voters: 213
- Voting Shares: 103,402,571
- Share Participation: 21.88%
- Yes Votes: 194 (98.62% of voting shares)
- No Votes: 5 (1.17% of voting shares)
- Abstentions: 14 (0.21% of voting shares)
While not officially considered in the results of the poll, there were an additional 678 votes in the pool. The pool votes broke down as:
- Yes Votes: 560 (85.92% of voting shares)
- No Votes: 6 (0.32% of voting shares)
- Abstentions: 112 (13.75% of voting shares)
Action
As the poll passed validation requirements, the following actions have been taken:
- The files used to compile the paper have been uploaded to GitHub along with the final pdf: Link
- The paper has been uploaded to the https://gridcoin.us website and a link has been placed on the homepage.

Moving Forward
Thank you to everyone for voting. We now have an updated white paper!
The network has spoken with an overwhelming voice. The white paper gives us a point of reference for our collective vision, philosophy, intent, general operation, and overall organization.
If you have any suggestions for edits, please make an issue on the GitHub repo linked above, or bring them up for discussion on a community forum. The paper will be updated accordingly. Major changes to the principal content of the paper will be polled at the discretion of the main contributors named in the original proposal (found here).
There is a rough out line of a blue paper started and open to contributions from anyone. The main discussion is happening on slack. There is no ETA on the blue paper, largely because the Gridcoin protocol is evolving so quickly.
While giving the network itself an internal point of reference, the white paper is also meant to serve as a tool for those who wish to educate others on the vision, operation, and potential of Gridcoin. Use it! If you would like to work as a group, there are a number of community members looking to organize larger initiatives that would help spread Gridcoin to those who would most benefit from its network and protocol. Feel free to reach out on discord or slack!
A white paper is also critical when it comes to getting listed on exchanges. We will definitely be looking into exchange options in the coming weeks and months.
