Today I decided to sell all my Byteball Bytes that I received for my historical credit on World Community Grid, and to buy Gridcoin. Fortunate, both altcoins are integrated into the Bittrex Exchange, therefore the transaction was smooth: the 0.167 GBYTEs being converted into 802.66 GRCs, with little commissions.
Decision was not easy, as I believe that Byteball is actually a very smart payment platform, with a big future. The decisive factor was the potential introduction of the Constant Block Reward (CBR) (details in the original announcement thread).
If you didn't noticed, currently there's an active pool running on the Gridcoin network, and the current status shows the we will have a 75/25 split between GRC minted by research-mint (RM) and stake-mint (SM). The direct effect of this changed will be that more investors will be motivated to keep their coins staking, implying a more stable network, and hopefully more interest for the Gridcoin.
Only time can tell if I made a good decision.
