Another Square Foot at the @gardenofeden Can Purify the Blood, Relieve Digestive Distress, *cough* Cure Cancer, and MORE!!

I took another walk through @quinneaker's @gardenofeden - this place is absolutely (s)teeming with great health, and I can't resist sharing the wealth with you!

Check out another single square foot of beautiful Earth that's exploding with natural remedies:

This is a blackberry bush. Every white flower has the potential to turn into a blackberry. Blackberries are obviously yummy, and their dark color indicates they're bursting with phytonutrients (pigments/colors really do have healing properties!), but did you know the leaves are way healthy too?? That's right! You can make a tea out of the leaves, and drink it or gargle for great oral health or to relieve a sore throat.

This is a slippery elm tree. The inside of its bark is really great for digestive issues, and it's also one of 4 ingredients in a very well established cancer cure called essiac tea ("essiac" is Caisse spelled backwards, the last name of a Canadian nurse who treated tens of thousands of people with this tea recipe she learned from indigenous people - before the government shut her clinic down of course).

This is oxalis, a member of the sorrel family. Sheep sorrel is another ingredient in essiac tea (along with burdock root and Turkish rhubarb root), but it doesn't look like this. Oxalis here is actually a wood sorrel, and it's delicious in salads. Parts of it taste like pickles! It's really great for treating diarrhea - that's super important to know if you ever find yourself sick as shit out in the wilderness somewhere.

This is cleavers growing up a ragweed stalk. It's a tenacious little plant that's kinda velcro-y. And helloooooo anti-cancer properties! It's a blood purifier that's also great for skin health. You can make a deodorant out of it by making a tea and then swiping it on your armpits.

This is shiso. It's related to mint & basil - I think some people actually call it Japanese basil. It's an expensive herb in some parts of the world, but it grows @gardenofeden like a "weed". See that deep color - can you say phytonutrients and flavonoids?? Hashtag cancer killer! It's antibacterial and antiseptic too.

This is ragweed. You can use it to relieve insect bites or poison ivy or even to soothe nausea. Do you think you have a ragweed allergy? Who told you that? Have you ever seen or been around a ragweed plant? They actually used to grow this as a cash crop; people made flour out of it, and ate it regularly. How is it that just a few generations ago people could consume lots of this plant, and now suddenly people are allergic? Do you think your allergies might have something to do with our increasingly toxic environment instead of plants that have proven themselves beneficial to humans over eons? Question everything, that's all I'm saying.

This is holly, specifically yapon holly. Did you know this is consumable? You can roast the leaves and make a tea out of it that has more caffeine than coffee.

These are collard greens that are flowering = about to make seeds. Collards are anti-inflammatory and antioxidants and way way yummy too. These leaves are little because the plant is using lots of its energy to make flowers, but at the right time of the season we can find collard leaves that are big enough to use as burrito wraps!

This is a lily, my favorite variety of flowers. There are tons of lilies out there. Do you know why flowers exist?

Sex.

That's it.

Flowers exist to attract pollinators for fertilization, or they create fruits so creatures will consume & spread their seeds.

Pretty hot, yes?

Again, that's only a TINY sampling of plants in the @gardenofeden in a tiny 1 square foot section of our 3.5 acres, and this is only a tiny description of their incredible healing properties! Of course nature is full spectrum, and each of these beauties has super powers beyond what I've described here - look them up. These plants are wildcrafted; they plant and grow themselves in a huge variety of environments, so you might already have some of them in your neck of the woods!

Health is easy - it's natural, it's accessible, it's sustainable, it's available, it's cheap and/or free. Nature provides!

We need to remember and utilize the super powers of plants if we want to truly break free from the systems that keep us dependent and sick and weak!

I encourage you to reconnect to your roots.

💛 Sara!
