I really didn't want to keep writing about this virus, seeing as I want to remain all positive and all. But things keep changing here. Spain is officially on Lock down, with no flights coming in or out for now.
People have been buying supplies as though it is the end of the world and it is very eerie to see so little in the shops, it really makes it very real. I live close to a town in the mountains and they do not want any children in the town any more. They have advised people to only come in for supplies and one person per household.
All public spaces are closed and all public events have been cancelled. This means no market and no rastro(local flea market) in the next few weeks. There has also been heavy police presence on the roads apparently, questioning where folk are going.
I just keep breathing when I hear all these updates, it is not nice to have one's freedom to move, taken away. This is of course, not good news for small independent businesses and crafts people. I usually create a little income from the markets, but all of that will have to be put on hold for now.
Now is the time to slow down and spend time together as families, whilst also letting the community support each other. Most people I know are concerned, especially for those who may be at risk and I understand that.
I have friends here, who are from Italy and the stories they have told me are quite full on. I prefer to hear the news from them, as they are in regular contact with their families. It seems this virus is really contagious and that it survives on surfaces for quite a few days.
I imagine that is only for indoor surfaces, as the sun has a wonderful way of killing off bacteria and bugs. I feel very grateful to be able to spend my time outdoors as having access to the sun and fresh air is vital to our well being.

I can not imagine living in a large town or city and having to be confined inside. In my eyes, this would just aid in the virus spreading.
I also know some folk who are travelling in Morocco and are now stuck there as the borders have been closed.
I still remain positive though, because with all of these restrictions, that means they is far less pollution in our skies, and far less being pumped out into our environment. Things are coming to a stand still and we will finally have to look at what is most important in our lives.
What it is that we really need in order to survive. It is an opportunity to become more self sufficient, because we all know that we could not continue as we were.
I know that the reactions have been extreme in some places, but still everything that happens, every change that occurs is an opportunity to reflect and learn.
So that, is what I will now be doing with my time. reflecting and focusing more on how I can become even more self sufficient and hopefully help some other folk along the way. I want to go back to writing more positive content, even though we do not know what the future of this wonderful platform holds for us.
But I believe the community will find a way to stay together and that is what is most important. Finding ways to move forward.
I have just created a Patreon account so if anyone wishes to support me, please do, I will be sharing poetry and words of empowerment.
Till next time, keep looking out for one another!
