Rubi's at the Maxwell St. Market

While I was in Chicago filming for a documentary I had a free Sunday morning to head to get some of the country's best tacos at Rubi's at the Maxwell Street Market. I had been wanting to try these tacos since I had seen Rubi's featured on Andrew Zimmern's show with Rick Bayless.
In addition to making the tortillas fresh on the griddle completely making the experience, the Al pastor is cooked on a vertical charcoal spit, loading it with flavor.

I ordered the Taco al pastor & Huitlacoche quesadilla and both were amazing.
I then finished it off with one of these amazing pastries that were filled with sweetened rice.
If you happen to be in the Chicago area on a Sunday, I'd highly recommend checking it out. I've since gone vegan, so you will have to taste it for me, at least I'll have the memories.
