Saludos amantes de los insectos. Los hemípteros son una de las familias más numerosas de insectos y están constituidos por unas 104.000 especies. La palabra hemíptero significa mitad de alas ya que se caracterizan por tener sus alas anteriores divididas en una parte dura y otra membranosa.

Entre los hemípteros más conocidos están las cigarras y los chinches. Hoy les traigo unas fotos macro de un chinche gigante que encontré en mi balcón, por aquí son muy comunes y he tenido varios encuentros con ellos, sin embargo, lo que más llamó mi atención de este amigo fueron sus musculosas patas traseras, eran realmente impresionantes, parecía un fisicoculturista 💪🏻 jajaja.

Among the best-known hemiptera are cicadas and bed bugs. Today I bring you some macro photos of a giant hemiptera that I found on my balcony, they are very common around here and I have had several encounters with them, however, what caught my attention the most about this friend were his muscular hind legs, they were really impressive, he looked like a bodybuilder 💪🏻 hahaha.

Tienen dos pares de alas, un par de alas duras que luce como una coraza cuando están cerradas o en reposo y un par de alas suaves o blandas que están debajo de las duras, cuando vuelan usan los dos pares / They have two pairs of wings, a pair of hard wings that look like a shell when closed or at rest and a pair of soft wings that are under the hard ones, when they fly they use both pairs

Sus ojos son muy expresivos / Their eyes are very expressive

El aparato bucal es alargado y les sirve para chupar nectar, sangre o cualquier otra sustancia dependiendo de la especie. Cuando no lo están utilizando permanece plegado hacia abajo como se puede ver en esta foto / The mouthparts are elongated and serve to suck nectar, blood or any other substance depending on the species. When not in use, it stays folded down as you can see in this photo

Sus patas son muy versátiles y con ellas pueden saltar, agarrarse, caminar e incluso nadar / Their legs are very versatile and with them they can jump, grab, walk and even swim

Según la información que pude encontrar, a este tipo de patas les suelen decir patas laminadas, patas de hoja o patas ancas de rana y es una característica de los machos / According to the information I was able to find, these types of legs are usually called laminated legs, leaf legs or frog-legs and it's a characteristic of males

Por lo general las antenas de los hemipteros suelen ser muy largas / In general, the antennae of hemiptera are usually very long

Si se fijan bien las antenas dan la impresión de ser unos ojos grandes
que de seguro les sirven para lucir más intimidantes / If you look closely, the antennae give the impression of big eyes
which surely serve to make them look more intimidating

Hay tantos hemípteros que incluso usando el Google lens me fue imposible encontrar el nombre científico exacto de este ejemplar 🤷🏻‍♀️. Me encanta fotografiar insectos, todo en ellos es tan pequeño y complejo como fascinante y hasta ahora se han portado muy bien como modelos para mis sesiones de fotos jejeje.

There are so many hemiptera that even using Google lens it was impossible for me to find the exact scientific name of this specimen 🤷🏻‍♀️. I love photographing insects, everything about them is as small and complex as it's fascinating and so far they have been very good as models for my photo sessions hehehe.
