Hello everyone. Welcome to this beautiful thursday, the last in the month if July 2023. Soon we shall all say goodbye to July 2023. Gentlemen, things have started shaping up at the ongoing Women's World Cup 2023 co-hosted by New Zealand and Australia. Two results stood out. The Nigerian ladies (Super Falcons) rallied round and thrashed co-host Australia (3-2) while the defending champions, The US ladies played out a one all draw with the Netherlands. Most people didn't see those results coming really especially that if the Super Falcons. Congrats to them as they now lead although they have the same points with Canada. Australia must now beat Canada to stand a chance of progressing from the group while the Super Falcons play already eliminated Republic of Ireland next. The last match of the day saw Portugal easily rolling over Vietnam, (2-0). Friday matches look tasty too. Will England overpower Denmark? Will Argentina beat South Africa? And what about China vs Haiti? Anyway, let's wait and see how those matches will pan out. Larry then turns his attention to have a look at today in #history.
Larry begins his look at today in history from the US. He finds out that on this day in 1996, a pipe bomb exploded in Olympic Centennial Park in Atlanta, Georgia, killing one person and injuring 111 others. It was the first terrorist assault during an Olympic Games since the 1972 Games in Munich, West Germany.
Larry remains in the US. He finds out that on this day in 1909, Wilbur and Orville Wright conducted one of the final qualifying flights for the sale of the world's first military airplane to the United States Army Signal Corps. The Wright brothers were American inventors and aviation pioneers who achieved the first powered, sustained, and controlled airplane flight.
From the US, Larry moves to Asia, precisely South Korea. He finds out that on this day in 1953, the armistice agreement that ended the Korean War was signed in central Korea at P'anmunjm.
Larry leaves the US and heads into Europe, precisely France. He finds out that on this day in 1830, the July Revolution began in France, culminating to Charles X's abdication and the ascension of Louis-Philippe to the throne.
Finally, Larry decides to round off his look at today in history with a stop over in Malaysia. He finds out that on this day in 1972, Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor, the Malaysian orthopedic surgeon who became the first Malaysian to go into space was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Having seen all these pieces of historical events, Larry picks up some of his well packaged parcels and heads out to begin his deliveries.
Let's now move over to the hunt for Larry...
Larry the postman as usual went about his duties delivering mails and am sure you know you can also get paid for just finding him. On my path, I hunted and found Larry in two places, that is, at Listnerds, and CTPX!
With my hunt at Listnerds I read over ten mails to complete the task. Here are some of the interesting ones I read:
- @gadrian share his thoughts about "us" being the boss here on hive. Nobody can get you fired here on hive. @gadrian/nobody-can-fire-you-from-hive
