Oh gosh!...I don't like feeling this way.
We've been on a bit of an "excursion" these past couple of months, from Durban to Cape Town then down the South Coast of Kwa-Zulu Natal".
It was wonderful...don't get me wrong...we had an epic time, meeting with friends and making new ones.
Laughing at each other's jokes....just chilling and having fun.
From watching the clouds hover over Table Mountain at Melkbosstrand, over looking the cold Atlantic Ocean on the West Coast of South Africa, to the Sun setting over the warm Indian Ocean at Glenmore Sands Beach South Coast of Kwa-Zulu Natal.
I feel quite privileged to have been able to go on these trips around our beautiful country.
Now I feel I'm still on holiday...Oh boy!...I seemed to have got stuck in that "holiday mode" and just cannot get out of it.
I've tried motivating myself...just don't seem to get into that gear...keeps slipping back into reverse. Lol!
My windows need a clean...Omg!...I stood there looking at them...must have been a good few minutes while my mind wondered off into space.
Why on earth do we have to worry about silly things like dust...we dust one day the next it's back, starting the process over again...if we dropped dead today, the dust is going to still be there any way, so what's the point.
Oh my word!...we humans are a crazy bunch.
Time's racing on...but I'm just not getting anywhere this week we've been back, I've achieved nothing...9am in the morning, and I'm still in my pajamas.
I found myself wondering around my house trying to gather up some kind of inspiration to do something constructive...alas... to no avail.
One would think I've been on a long trip to Australia or somewhere across the ocean and have jetlag.
The Art room was in slight disarray and needed attention, with a little effort, I arranged the canvas on the easel...hoping to create at least one piece of art and achieve something today, no...it wasn't happening...nothing came to mind.
Well!...I do have quite a few ideas on land and seascapes...unfortunately the creative connection between my brain and the paint brushes sort of went totally in reverse mode leaving me feeling unmotivated...I have to get myself unstuck and back on track with my daily living.
How?...was the ultimate question.
Mmmm...my paints and brushes need a little sorting out... maybe after I've cleaned the windows and swept the the paving, I'm sure I'll be in a better frame of mind.
I mean, I'm not depressed or anything you know...just on another level of space in my mental capacity Hehe!...if you know what I mean.
No! dear friends...it ain't going to happen today.
As I stood in the kitchen, watching the Weaver and Hadada (South African birds) feeding on the cooked rice I'd thrown out for them previously, Silver Mamma Chef came to mind.
After consulting with her about the lethargic mode I've been in the past few days since touring the country... she quite happily took over and came up with an innovative idea, setting a little spark of creativity off.
I would like to share Silver Mamma Chef's special plaited dough and date bread recipe.
Totally her own creation, her first time ever baking it.
So... Silver Mamma Chef and I got stuck into the recipe, breaking the lethargic holiday mode I'd been in the past week, the creative juices began it's productivity, leaving me energized to finish my goals that I'd had lined up, finishing them one at a time and breaking back into being my old creative self.
Thank You Silver Mamma Chef.
