The theme for #BOM made me chuckle a bit...Lol!
[Things...memories...from our youth that todays youth don't know...understand.]
Mmmm...how things have changed since the 70's and 80's. Life has sure speeded up since then.
Texting friends and family, or googling subjects of interest, was unheard of.
The local Library was the primary source of research for school projects, or general information; now it's at the tip of one's finger... Yes...the indispensable cellphone.
We had the jolly old telephone booth or the big black home telephone at our disposal... until Nokia cellular phone arrived on the scene in the late 1980's. It was like carrying a small brick around in one's handbag.
I remember mine had a long antenna attached to it, I had to be very careful not to poke someone's eye out on the bus or train coming home from work.
Did we ever think back then, that it would evolved into a little mini computer, something that seemingly...our lives depend on now.

Memory making was done by taking photographs with an old Kodak Camera.
Now everything is stacked away on the "notorious smart phone", even selfies...Omg...what can't be done on that little "devil" that rules our lives for ever.
I have a sort of a "love hate" relation with mine...it's like a marriage...you want to kill it, but better not because you need it...if you get my drift Lol!

Oh! and those home movies...my dad use to gather the neighbors at our house on the weekends and show old movies on a 16mm Projector.
Omg!...those were the jolly old days.

My poor mother was always busy making popcorn and cold drink for the audience, I think she enjoyed it, she never complained about the mess afterwards either.
Today's youth have every latest movie at a click of a button.
With Netflix and DSTV...in the comfort of one's home.
Oh yes!...not forgetting the remote of course...when all hell breaks loose when it's mislaid or the batteries have died and they have to get off their but and look for it or change batteries.
You know that gremlin that played TV games the night before...well!... he left the building never to be seen again, nobody in my house stuck it in between the couch cushions or left it on top of the fridge when they went for a refill.
Oh no, it was that gremlin for sure.

How I miss those days listening to good music....we had to go out and buy our favorite record and play it on a record-player.
This old radiogram still adorns my home, own photograph taken with my smart phone
Now we can download free music of our choice and play it through our phones onto the TV screen.
Technology is getting more and more advanced, where will it end I wonder?
What did we do before computers and techno music?.

We typed on type writers and had live bands to entertain us. We sent telegrams instead of emails and received letters in the post and had conversations with the postman.
Me in my late teens
The 70's, 80's and 90's were the best years of my life. We had good clean fun, and it was quite safe to do so then.
I can't believe the time has gone by so fast, from young and naïve to old and wise Lol!
