Speaking of "scent memories" in #SilverPrompts 3.
This takes me back quite a long time ago to a place in my youth when Peter and I were dating.
I don't know if anyone is familiar with a perfume called Tabu.
Well!... the story goes like this...Peter, now my husband of half a century...had an admirer who fancied him for quite awhile back then. I mean one couldn't blame the girl, he was quite a handsome hunk back in the day and is still my hunk Hehe!
This chick use to wear Tabu perfume, one could smell her from a mile away, the scent use to give me such a headache and make me so nauseas...Omg...I couldn't stand the aroma.
I don't know if it was the fact that she tried her best to get Peter's attention and was just a little jealousy on my part Lol!...any way, she tried all angles including befriending me...at that stage I didn't know how genuine she was, what the heck, I thought I'd give her the benefit of the doubt. I mean... after all, if he really fancied me and wanted to be with me, he'd choose me , not so?
Well...Lol... he stayed alright...it's been 49 years since then and mostly good ones too.

Her Tabu perfume filled the room with it's pungent aroma, every now and then the spray bottle would emerge from her handbag, spraying herself all over, almost choking me to death.
To tell you the honest truth, I think she enjoyed my discomfort.

On my nineteenth birthday party, I invited her, after all she supposed to be my so called friend at the time.
She handed me a beautifully wrapped gift.

She seemed more excited about the gift than me...Oh my word...what do you think it was?...yes, a bottle of Tabu perfume and she couldn't wait to test it, spraying me with this nauseating pungent scent spoiling my evening.
What was her intention in giving me the same perfume she wore hey?
Maybe she thought it would remind Peter of her...after all, he did take her out a couple of times on a date before he met me.
Oh my word!...what a damper that was that night.
I couldn't take it anymore so snuck off during the party and went and had a shower, trying desperately to get rid of the smell, dousing myself in Johnson's Baby powder and changed my clothes.
It wasn't long after that when she showed her true colors, well...we became "unfriended".

I was standing in the queue at the Supermarket the other day and smelt someone wearing Tabu prompting me to write a post for #Silverprompts. Lol!
Oh boy...did that trigger memories taking me back to a place in the past.
Tabu is definitely Taboo for me.
