( EN / DE ) One of those days when everything I had planned somehow didn't work out. .... As I recently found out, @clareartista was planning a creative co-working meetup, which I would have loved to check out, but unfortunately it didn't take place today because there wasn't enough interest.
The idea is unfortunately on hold for now, but if you're interested in something like this, here's a call to all the creatives among us to maybe take a look and express interest?

Wie ich kürzlich herausgefunden habe plante Clareartista ein kreatives co-working meetup, das hätte ich mir gerne angesehen, nur leider fand es heute nicht statt, da zuwenig Interesse bestand. Die Idee ist vorerst leider auf Eis gelegt, aber falls euch so etwas interessiert, hier auch gleich ein Aufruf an alle Kreativen unter uns, sich das vielleicht mal anzusehen und Interesse zu bekunden?
After that I planned a post for the weekly Cinnamon Cop Writing Prompt. I had already picked out the photos when I read the rules again and unfortunately had to realise that only posts in English are allowed. This exception to post only in English and exclude the German-speaking community is something I do only very rarely, so I also discarded this plan. But the inspiration for the prompt remained and a post by @leaky20 about the famous Kaffee Hawelka in Vienna also inspired me to do it, so I'm sticking to the topic of "favourite coffee house" in the broadest sense and I'll leave these thoughts here with my dear Silver Bloggers in the community :-)
Danach plante ich einen Post für das wöchentliche Cinnamon Cop Writing Prompt. Hatte schon die Fotos herausgesucht als ich nochmal genau die Regeln las und musste leider feststellen, dass dafür nur rein engisch sprachige Posts zugelassen sind. Diese Ausnahme mal nur in Englisch zu posten und die deutsch sprachige Community auszuschließen mache ich aber nur sehr selten, also habe ich auch diesen Plan wieder verworfen. Aber die Inspiration zu dem Prompt blieb ja doch und auch ein Post von leaky über das berühmte Kaffee Hawelka in Wien hatte mich dazu inspiriert, also bleibt es jetzt beim Thema „Lieblings Kaffe Haus“ im weitesten Sinne und ich lasse mich mit diesen Gedanken hier bei meinen lieben Silver Bloggers in der Community nieder :-)
Austria without coffee and without coffee houses is actually unthinkable. In Graz, too, there are coffee houses on every corner and probably the sentence "Gemma auf an Kaffee" (Lets go for a coffee) is statistically the most uttered sentence in this country! Coffee comes in many variations here. They have the old sounding names of Verlängerter, Kleiner Brauner, Großer Brauner, Melange. But, alas. Just as these old dimly lit coffee houses with their quirky waiters are slowly disappearing, so too are these coffee-making variations, giving way to the "chic" capuccinos and latte macchiatos.... Yes, times are changing.
A veil of uniformity is being cast over a once ancient culture, at least that's what I perceive here. Being Austrian is no longer chic, is it?
You had your "regular café" where no matter when you went you met someone you knew, even if it was only the waiter who knew all your little and big worries. Especially during my student days, I was often in the coffee house several times a day. There was chatter and exchanges. Plans were made or studied. It was a kind of second living room that we had there. A living room with a waitress ;-)
Österreich ohne Kaffee und ohne Kaffeehäuser ist eigentlich undenkbar. Auch in Graz befinden sich an jeder Ecke Kaffeehäuser und wahrscheinlich ist der Satz „Gemma auf an Kaffee“ der statistisch meist ausgesprochene Satz hierzulande! Kaffee in vielen Variationen gibt es hier. Sie tragen die klingenden alten Namen Verlängerter, Kleiner Brauner, Großer Brauner, Melange. Aber, leider. Genau so wie diese alten schummrigen Kaffeehäuser mit den schrulligen Kellnern langsam verschwinden, so verschwinden auch diese Kaffee Zubereitungs Varianten und weichen den „schicken“ Capuccinos und Latte Macchiatos... Ja, die Zeiten ändern sich eben.
Über eine einstmals alte Kultur legt sich so ein Schleier des Einheitsbreis, zumindest ist es das was ich hier wahrnehme. Österreicher zu sein ist nicht mehr chick oder?
Man hatte sein „Stamm Cafe“ wo man egal wann man hinging jemanden antraf den man kannte und wenn es nur der Herr Ober war, der all deine kleinen und großen Sorgen wohl kannte. Gerade während meiner Studienzeit war ich oft mehrmals täglich im Kaffeehaus. Es wurde geplappert und sich ausgetauscht. Pläne geschmiedet oder gelernt. Es war eine Art von zweitem Wohnzimmer das wir dort hatten. Ein Wohnzimmer mit Bedienung ;-)
Well, unfortunately I don't have a favourite coffee house any more. But there is something else that makes coffee houses so special and that is meeting up with a good friend, or several. And that's exactly what I did last week with @music-nature. The time in the city of Graz flew by, we had so much to talk about after such a long time.
We found a nice spot on the square where I had photographed the saxophone player before. Instead of the saxophone, the sound of other street musicians' guitars floated over to us. The cafe itself is nice, but nothing special, just one of many of its kind. The prices... well, EUR 4.20 for a small cup of coffee reflect the general price level in an exclusive location well, I think.
Nun, so ein Lieblings Kaffeehaus habe ich leider nicht mehr. Aber da gibt es noch etwas anderes, das Kaffeehäuser so besonders macht und das ist, sich mit einem guten Freund, oder mehreren zu treffen. Und genau das habe ich vorige Woche mit @music-nature getan. Die Zeit in der Grazer City verging wie im Fluge, so viel hatten wir uns nach längerer Zeit zu erzählen.
Auf dem Platz and dem ich zuvor die Saxophon Spielerin fotografiert hatte fanden wir ein nettes Plätzchen. Statt Saxophon schwebte nun der Gitarrenklang anderer Straßenmusikanten zu uns herüber. Der Cafe selbst ist nett, aber jetzt auch nichts besonderes, sondern nur eines von vielen die es in dieser Art gibt. Die Preise.. nun ja EUR 4,20 für ein kleines Häferl Kaffee spiegeln das allgemeine Preisniveau in exklusiver Lage gut wieder denke ich.

Hier seht ihr, wie der Platz und dieses Cafe in der kälteren Jahreszeit auszieht. Unsere Innenstadt ist halt schon ein sehr charmanter und einzigartiger Ort mit einem wunderbarem Ambiente.
But the best thing was to spend that beautiful late summer afternoon there with someone you really like, because in the end that's what counts the most, isn't it?
Das schönste aber war diesen herrlichen Spätsommertag Nachmittag dort mit einem Menschen, den man sehr gerne hat zu verbringen, denn das ist am Ende doch was am meisten zählt, nicht wahr?
