Happy New Year to all my dear friends at HIVE.
We are back after a well-deserved vacation. The truth is that I wanted it very much and I worked very hard to be able to have a few days of rest.
Un feliz año a todos mis queridos amigos en HIVE.
Ya por acá estamos de regreso después de unas vacaciones muy merecidas. La verdad es que lo deseaba mucho y trabajé con muchas ganas para poder lograr unos días de descanso tranquilos.
Definitely seeing my mother was the best part of it all, being with her, hugging her, feeling her close and being able to take care of her, that is what fills me with happiness and I am sure that every time I remember those moments and see the photos and videos I will feel very happy.
Definitivamente ver a mi madre fue la mejor parte de todo, estar con ella, abrazarla, sentirla cerquita y poderla atender, eso es lo que me llena de felicidad y estoy segura que cada vez que me acuerde de esos momentos y vea las fotos y videos me sentiré muy feliz.
Today I come to tell you a little of that trip that began on Sunday December 18 in the middle of the day of the final of the World Cup in Qatar. Sincerely I tell you that for all of us it was a difficult decision, it is in between the desire to travel and get to our destination quickly and on the other hand we could not stand the idea of missing the final, especially because we are fans of the sport, we carry it in our blood, we grew up with it and everyone at home we go crazy, for a sample a button (look at the gif I made just at the last penalty).
Hoy vengo a contarles un poco de ese viaje que comenzó el domingo 18 de diciembre en pleno día de la final del mundial de futbol en Qatar. Sinceramente les digo que para todos fue una decisión difícil, está de por medio las ganas de querer viajar y llegar rápido a nuestro destino y por otra parte no soportábamos la idea de perdernos la final, sobre todo porque somos aficionados de ese deporte, lo llevamos en la sangre, crecimos con él y todos en casa nos volvemos locos, para muestra un botón (miren el gif que hice justo en el último penal).
We left home at 5 in the morning, we already know that it is a 12 to 15 hour road trip, it all depends on the traffic on the road that day; that is always an important factor when we are going to choose the day to travel and knowing that it was Sunday and it was the final, everyone would be at home watching every event.
Salimos de casa a las 5 de la mañana, ya sabemos que son entre 12 a 15 horas de viaje por carretera, todo depende del tráfico que haya ese día en carretera; ese siempre es un factor importante cuando vamos a escoger el día para viajar y sabiendo que era domingo y era la final pues todos estarían en casa pendientes de cada acontecimiento.
The decision was already made, we would not see or know anything about the game until the evening when we got home, but one thing is what you think and another thing is what really happens. When we arrived in the state of Barinas and we got the radio signal the first thing we heard was the narration of the game, they were already in the first half and from then on we could not stop listening, it was then when we decided to stop at the closest and most comfortable restaurant possible, so we could rest our legs and enjoy the game for a while.
La decisión ya estaba tomada, no veríamos, ni sabríamos nada del partido hasta la noche cuando llegáramos a casa, pero una cosa es lo que se piensa y otra la que realmente sucede. Cuando llegamos al estado barinas y volvimos agarrar señal de la radio lo primero que se escuchó fue la narración del partido, ya iban en el primer tiempo y a partir de allí no pudimos parar de oír, fue entonces cuando decidimos pararnos en el restaurant más cercano y cómodo posible, así aprovechábamos de descansar las piernas y disfrutar un rato del partido.
My husband wanted to leave quickly but my children and I insisted on something, this is something that happens every 4 years and San Cristobal was not going anywhere, so he had no choice but to stay until the end. This is how I was able to enjoy the soccer party surrounded by nice people, sport lovers like us. The final was incredible, amazing, without any doubt that both teams sweated the shirt and thanks to God Argentina gave us this happiness so expected by the entire American continent for several years.
Mi esposito quería irse rápido pero mis hijos y yo le insistimos en algo, esto es algo que sucede cada 4 años y San Cristóbal no se iba a ir a ninguna parte, así que no le toco más remedio que quedarse hasta el final. Así fue como pude disfrutar de la fiesta del futbol rodeada de gente amable, amantes del deporte como nosotros. La final increíble, sorprendente, sin duda alguna que ambos equipos sudaron la camiseta y gracias a Dios Argentina nos regaló esta felicidad tan esperada por todo el continente americano desde hace varios años.
Filled with this joy we continued on our way, we arrived in Táchira and there they were waiting for us with much affection and with many tequeños; it was the tequeño party with incredible sauces.
Llenos de esta alegría proseguimos nuestro camino, llegamos a Táchira y allí nos esperaban con mucho cariño y con muchos tequeños; era la fiesta del tequeño con unas salsas increíbles.
From there my body went into a rest, a total rest, when I went to bed I could only breathe and be calm because we were already there with well.
A partir de allí mi cuerpo entro en un descanso, un reposo total, al acostarme solo pude respirar y estar tranquila porque ya estábamos allí con bien.
Being in our land is synonymous with celebration; here every day there is something to celebrate, there is someone new to visit, meet and there is a lot to walk around, luckily the weather for a few days gave us a break and let us do everything we wanted.
Estar en nuestra tierra es sinónimo de fiesta; aquí todos los días hay algo que celebrar, hay alguien nuevo para visitar, conocer y hay mucho para pasear, por suerte el clima durante unos días nos dio un respiro y nos dejó hacer todo lo que queríamos.

On the 24th and 31st we made our respective hallacas, this is already a lifelong tradition and I hope that our children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all generations to come will continue to preserve it. It is always my turn, together with my brother Francisco, to cut, roast and clean the leaves, while my sisters take care of the stew, which is very good.
El 24 y 31 hicimos nuestras respectivas hallacas, esto ya es una tradición de toda una vida y espero que nuestros hijos, nietos, bisnietos y todas la generaciones que están por venir la sigan conservando. A mí siempre me toca junto a mi hermano francisco cortar, asar y limpiar las hojas, mientras que mis hermanas se encargan del guiso que les queda muy bueno.
I can only thank life today for allowing me to live these moments, I can only thank God for having made me be born in this beautiful family nucleus, the truth is that we are all crazy and we are always inventing something to laugh and have a good time.
Yo solo puedo dar gracias hoy a la vida por permitirme vivir estos momentos, solo puedo decirle gracias a Dios por haberme hecho nacer en este núcleo familiar tan bonito, la verdad e que todos somos unos locos y siempre nos la pasamos inventando algo para reír y pasarla bien.
Now that we are back home, we just have to take advantage of this new opportunity, this new year to start from scratch, move forward and not let ourselves be defeated. Let's keep working, let's keep growing, the opportunities are there and we just have to shake 2022 and take advantage of our attitudes, qualities and gifts that God gave us.
Ahora que ya estamos nuevamente en casa solo nos queda aprovechar esta nueva oportunidad, este nuevo año para empezar de cero, salir adelante y no dejarnos vencer. Sigamos trabajando, sigamos creciendo, las oportunidades están allí y solo debemos sacudirnos el 2022 y sacarle provecho a nuestras actitudes, cualidades y dones que Dios nos regaló.
