The blog's theme for the month of March occupies us again and makes us think about a lot of things that have happened to us during our wonderful life. Last night, without wanting to, but wanting to, I stayed up all night remembering and trying to choose what has been the one thing that has marked my life during the month of March.
El Tema del blog del mes de marzo nos ocupa nuevamente y nos pone a pensar en un montón de cosas que nos han ocurrido durante nuestra maravillosa vida. Anoche sin querer, pero queriendo me desvele recordando y tratando de escoger cual ha sido esa l ocurra que durante el mes de Marzo ha marcado mi vida.
I thought and thought and I realized that these days my life always moves a little, I do not know if it is because every April 3 is another year back to the sun, if it is that my zodiac sign moves its energies or it is because the year is still starting and I am planning what I want for life.
Pensé y pensé y me di cuenta que por estos días mi vida siempre se mueve un poco, no sé si es porque cada 3 de abril se cumple un año más de vuelta al sol, si es que mi signo zodiacal mueve sus energías o es porque aún está iniciando el año y yo ando planificando lo que quiero para vida.
Today I come to tell you about the adventure I experienced when I bought this house very close to the sea, in a town on the coast of Mirandina in Venezuela, where the heat, the flavor and the tradition make you love this tropical land even more.
Hoy les vengo a contar de la aventura que experimenté al adquirir esta vivienda muy cerca del mar, en una localidad de las costas mirandinas en Venezuela, donde el calor, el sabor y la tradición te hacen amar aún más esta tierra tropical.
I remember that long before I was thinking about how we could buy a house to spend the vacation seasons, weekends with friends; I imagined just leaving the 4 walls of my house to go to a quieter place, where I could interact with nature, breathe another air and occupy my mind in something other than the house, the children, shopping, work.
Recuerdo que desde mucho antes pensaba en como podíamos comprar una casa para pasar las temporadas de vacaciones, los fines de semana con los amigos; me imaginaba simplemente saliendo de las 4 paredes de mi casa para ir a un sitio más tranquilo, donde yo pudiese interactuar con la naturaleza, respirar otro aire y ocupar mi mente en otra cosa que no fuese la casa, los hijos, las compras, el trabajo.
As every year I started off on the right foot, I looked here and there but everything was very expensive, even so I was not discouraged, I kept dreaming about my house, I thought about it, I built it, I painted it, in my mind it was as if it would soon become a reality.
I know that many people called me crazy and when they saw me looking for houses they told me that I was dreaming again.
Como cada año empezaba con buen pie, buscaba aquí y allá pero todo era muy costoso, aun así no me desanimaba, seguía soñando con mi casa, la pensaba, la construía, la pintaba, en mi mente estaba aquello como si pronto se fuese hacer realidad.
Sé que muchos me llamaban loca y cuando me veían buscando casas me decían que estaba soñando otra vez.
"He who does not dare to dream, will never succeed".
The mind has something wonderful and thinking is what makes us different from the animal kingdom, God has given us a life so that we are able to dream, fight and achieve everything we yearn for and this is what I have based my life on.
"Quien no se atreve a soñar, nunca lo va a lograr".
La mente tiene algo maravilloso y pensar es lo que nos hace diferente al reino animal, Dios nos ha regalado una vida para que seamos capaces de soñar, luchar y lograr todo lo que anhelemos y en esto he basado mi vida
One Sunday at noon on that March 2015, after leaving mass I came talking all the way with my husband about what I dreamed of, he as a good husband always listened to me and did not deny me the right to open my wings to fly. We arrived home and I turned on the computer and I spent some time looking at houses on the beach and as if it was a gift from God there appeared a publication with just a photo, ah! but not a normal photo! It was a picture of a wall and to top it off turned upside down; that caught my attention and I went to the description which wasn't much either; to my luck the person who made the publication didn't have the slightest idea of what he was doing, the only good thing was that he left a cell phone number.
Un domingo a mediodía en aquel marzo de 2015, luego de salir de misa me vine conversando por todo el camino con mi esposo de lo que yo soñaba, él como buen esposo siempre me escuchaba y no me negaba el derecho abrir mis alas para volar. Llegamos a casa y prendí la computadora y me dedique por un rato a ver casas en la playa y como si fuera un regalo de dios allí apareció, una publicación con tan solo una foto, ¡ah! ¡Pero no una foto normal! Era una foto de una pared y para colmo volteada al revés; aquello me llamo la atención y me fui a la descripción la cual tampoco había mucha; para mi suerte la persona que hizo la publicación no tenía ni la más mínima idea de lo que estaba haciendo, lo único bueno fue que dejo un numero de celular.
I immediately summoned up my courage and together with my faithful squire Sancho (Jose) Panza, we made an appointment and immediately launched into the adventure.
De inmediato me armé de valentía y junto con mi fiel escudero sancho (José) panza, hicimos una cita y de inmediato no lanzamos a la aventura.
𝐓𝐨 𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞, 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐛𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐝.
𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐚 𝐚𝐥𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐳𝐚𝐫 𝐥𝐨 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞, 𝐮𝐧𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐛𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐫 𝐥𝐨 𝐚𝐛𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐨.
We arrived at the place with a bit of fear, but who is not afraid in this life! Everything is part of the adventure! I can only tell you that the house was incredible, it was big, with fruit trees everywhere, the gentlemen who occupied it had it very well preserved since the owners had left the country a long time ago. Everything was very nice and well organized, the truth is that the house only needed a new owner who wanted to occupy it.
Llegamos al lugar con un poco de miedo ¡pero quien no tiene miedo en esta vida! ¡Todo es parte de la aventura! Solo les puedo decir que la casa era increíble, era grande, con árboles frutales por todos lados, los señores que la ocupaban la tenían muy bien conservada ya que los dueños hace rato se habían ido del país. Todo estaba bien bonito y muy organizado, la verdad es que a la casa no le hacía falta más que un nuevo dueño que la quisiera ocupar.
A week later and thanks to divine providence the house was ours.
They say that you should never judge a book by its cover and I will never forget that it was thanks to this phrase that I felt confident that this could be the house I was looking for.
Una semana después y gracias a la divina providencia la casa era nuestra.
Dicen que no hay que juzgar el libro por la portada y yo nunca me voy a olvidar que fue gracias a esta frase que me sentí confiada en que esa podía ser la casa que tanto estaba buscando.
It has been several years that we have spent pleasant moments in it, alone, with friends, with my children's friends; one day we go to the beach, to the river or we simply stay there planting bushes or when the ones that are already there; thanks to God we always have a good time and we have already built a beautiful history.
Ya son varios años pasando momentos agradables en ella, sola, acompañada, con amigos, con los amigos de mis hijos; un día nos vamos a la playa, al rio o sino simplemente nos quedamos sembrando matas o cuando las que ya están; gracias a Dios siempre la pasamos bien y ya hemos construido una historia bonita.
We will never forget that first week when we all went to inaugurate, it was Easter week and many were free so the house was full of people. Many of us, being inexperienced, did not know that we had to close the doors after 6 o'clock with protective netting for the "sancudos" and the electricity was out for a long time, that night the "sancudos" made us so crazy that there was no way to fight the heat and the "sancudos" bite, it was like living an episode of the series "naked survival".
Nunca nos vamos a olvidar de esa primera semana en que nos fuimos todos a inaugurar, era semana santa y muchos estaban libres por lo que la casa estaba copada de gente. Muchos por inexpertos no sabíamos que había que cerrar después de las 6 las puertas con malla protectora para los sancudos y se fue la luz por largo rato, esa noche los sancudos nos desquiciaron tanto que no hubo manera de forma de combatir el calor y la picada de sancudos, era como estar viviendo un capítulo de la serie “supervivencia al desnudo”.
Since then we all learned our lesson and every time we meet again at the house we can't stop laughing about everything we did, we even went out to the backyard and made a bonfire and challenged the "sancudos" to bite us more.
Desde aquella todos aprendimos la lección y cada vez que nos reencontramos en la casa no paramos de reír por todo lo que hicimos, hasta nos salimos al patio e hicimos una fogata y desafiábamos a los sancudos para que nos picaran más.
Crazy things like this happen in March, spring comes, I celebrate life, and I keep dreaming.
Locuras como ésta suceden en marzo, llega la primavera, celebro la vida, y sigo soñando.
