Hello, Hivers and members of the Silver Bloggers community.
Although Halloween is not a big thing in this part of the world where I live. I am Venezuelan and I live in Caracas. Every day, thanks to marketing, some customs have been adopted and now it's common to see stores full of stuff alluding to Halloween. And some parties are celebrated as well.

I don't have memories of wicked Halloween tricks or treats when I was a child. I've never carved a lantern out of a pumpkin in my life, let alone in a turnip. I recently learned from a Scots friend, that when the Halloween celebration originated lanterns used to be carved into turnips. Which must have been a difficult task to accomplish.
However I have some memories of Halloween when my son was little, he is now a teen. But when he was a child he enjoyed some tricks or treats.
So going to my family album to share some memories here, the first thing I come across are some photos with costumes. And if one of them was my son's favorite at some point, it was one of a skeleton. I remember that that year, he wore the costume for many days even after Halloween.

And at some point, the skeleton transformed into a Rasta skeleton as you see in the photo. Thanks to a Rasta cap that his father had brought him from a work trip. And by the way, these days I found that he still keeps the Rasta's cap.
We also used to go to visit my aunt to bake cookies and cakes and decorate them with pumpkin motifs. My aunt always liked to bake and decorate cookies and she enjoyed doing it with my son and nephews whom she always invited to bake and place decorations around the house.

And I remember that most of the fun for my son was going through the loot of candy he got from the trick or treating he used to do with the boys at the residential complex. And the year he wore the skeleton costume was particularly fruitful in collecting sweets.

These are some of the sweet memories I have of Halloween that give me a little nostalgia and no fear ;) Thanks to the SilverBloggers community for proposing this theme that took me to the album of memories. And this is my post for The Blog of the Week #BoW.
If you made it this far, thank you very much for reading.
