MANY MONTHS AGO
Friends of mine wrote and illustrated a beautiful cookbook and I just had to have a copy, so I contacted them to see where I might get one. They told me it was a special gift they had created for family, they had published it themselves. They also said, I think this was the word, "spendy".
Another words, a little expensive. Now I must say I am a very conservative shopper. I look for bargains.
No amount of money would have stopped me from buying this cookbook.
First off, I had already sampled many recipes these cooks offered through social media. Being a lover of "cooking" as well as eating, I thoroughly enjoyed following the instructions and new combinations of ingredients especially the use of fresh herbs. I grow a ton of herbs during the growing season, I believe incorporating these in any form is not only delicious but healthy.
There is one dish that I can never make too much of...
I tripled the recipe last time I made those scrumptious little balls, the family was on their way to the #homestead. My crockpots would be full, hot and ready to go when they arrived.
I really enjoyed the use of turkey, much leaner than beef, with all those lovely greens mixed in, Winner Winner Turkey Dinner!
Here's my first try at replicating this turkey meatball mix. The only problem with this recipe, those balls go way too fast. I double or triple the ingredients now anytime I make them. I'll keep them in a crockpot warm and munch on them all day long. They have a nice kick to them; the cilantro helps do the job.
Another wonderful dish, (we are salmon addicts) any new twist on the fish, I'll give it a try.
This was made with an Italian flare, zesty, not spendy.
Back to the book...What I found to be so terrific was this entire project was a shared experience between a hubby and wife. All of the pictures, original, recipes, original, the prose and descriptions all original.
My friends are really awesome, kind, thoughtful and generous. Did I mention helpful and smart too?
In love with each other...the luckiest!!!!
Hanging out with them is such fun, ask anyone from, well, around the world. Here they are celebrating the hubby's birthday with some new friends. Those two have new peeps all over the globe.
If you guessed @dandays and @puravitaville, you are correct. These two helped @thebigsweed and I way back, over 4 years ago, to navigate the steem #hive world. We are so grateful, it wasn't easy for us #silverbloggers to get things right, but with a little help from our friends, we got by with a little help from our friends, if you need anybody...........
Nothing in the world is better than a home-cooked meal to share with family and friends.
Now where's my apron?
A quick shout out to @lizelle and the #silverbloggers team, thanks for all you do for this fantastic community. Hello Mother hive-106316, thanks for all your support.
So that's all for now.
Lots of love,
