We keep on saying this, but it's true: there were some fantastic contributions to the edition of #bow which came to an extended end on Monday, 30 August. Again, there were some standout posts and this time round the panel of four (@lizelle, @papilloncharity, @ericvancewalton and @fionasfavourites - @tarazkp is still on a leave of absence) had difficulty choosing and we had to get help. More of that below.

The Farm, Hawaii or both?

They say dreams are what life is about and when you realise that dream, you're in heaven. That's essentially what @farm-mom says about their retirement on the farm. But. She still dreams of a vacation in Hawaii. Methinks if you dream it, be it it'll happen, right? So, we think, the farm, and Hawaii.

He says it's something he doesn't just go around telling just anyone, so I'm glad Silver Bloggers aren't "just anyone"! I think, though, that @dandays just told the whole world (and it's forever on the blockchain, right?), that he's already living his dream retirement destination. A quiet life by the seaside - a close second
The panel had great difficulty picking first and second place, and as I said, we had help. Our Mama Chef hankers for a simple life. She's quite specific: a little fisherman's cottage by the sea in Paternoster, West coast of South Africa, to be free and one with nature.
As an aside: If you are ever in South Africa, Paternoster is a not-negotiable destination stop over on your itinerary.
Random Result
As I mentioned, the panel, was indecisive and resorted to the random pick tool for help. The two names went into the box and the result -
Retirement is not a destination, but an adventure
Our resident gypsy is trapped in lockdown in Melbourne, Australia. For all of us, lockdown is tough, but more so for folk with itchy feet. Her post, yearning for a purposeful journey and lazy days on the river, spoke to us all and is a deserving winner.
Hopefully the prize loot can contribute to the rainy day travel stash and for when you do sail away (not in the mirror yacht!).
